Up to the phrase "one should generate the mind for perfect complete enlightenment," it explains that due to greater compassion and skillful means, for the sake of each sentient being in the lower realms, one also endures suffering for a long time, and after liberating those sentient beings from those sufferings, one does not let them pass into nirvana until unsurpassed enlightenment, and only after those sentient beings have all passed into nirvana, does one generate the vajra-like bodhicitta through the means of benefiting oneself, which shows the preciousness of having compassion. Subhuti, furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should constantly and continuously generate the sublime mind, with what kind of mind does one become the foremost of all sentient beings, one should generate such a sublime mind, up to the phrase "one should not be arrogant with the sublime mind," this explains that the vajra-like bodhicitta is without fault. After a Bodhisattva attains the first ground and generates the first mind, one no longer generates desire, hatred, ignorance, and the mind of harming sentient beings, and does not generate the inferior mind of a Hearer or Solitary Realizer, but rather generates the sublime mind of unsurpassed enlightenment, although one becomes the foremost of all sentient beings, one will not become arrogant because of the sublime mind, this is without fault. Therefore, it explains the meaning of the term Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Subhuti, furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should possess an immovable mind, up to the phrase "this is the immovable mind of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva," this explains that the vajra-like bodhicitta is the quality of being unshakeable in any way, because it is inseparable from the attention that possesses all-knowingness, therefore it is not shaken or moved by unfavorable factors such as demons. Subhuti, furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should generate the mind of benefiting and bringing happiness to all sentient beings, up to, Subhuti, this is the benefit and happy mind of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, abiding in this, certainly

Up to the point of acting in a way that does not focus on characteristics, the arising of a vajra-like mind is the teaching of the qualities of accomplishing the benefit of all sentient beings. Because of having a vast mind, it accomplishes various kinds of benefit and happiness for all sentient beings, and it does not tire of protecting sentient beings. Because of the vast mind that does not abandon sentient beings, it becomes the excellence of the great assembly of sentient beings. Therefore, it is called a Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Thus, the meaning of the words of a great being is shown. Having shown the vast intention in this way, in order to show the vast practice, Subhuti, again, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should constantly and continuously desire the Dharma, and so on, it is said. This vast practice is also shown in four ways: abiding in the joy of the Dharma, abiding in emptiness, abiding in white dharmas such as mindfulness, and abiding in samadhi. Among these, abiding in the joy of the Dharma is from "should constantly and continuously desire the Dharma" to "this is striving for the yoga of devotion to the Dharma." Thus, the practice of abiding in the joy of the Dharma is shown. Among these, desiring the Dharma and rejoicing in the Dharma is abiding in the joy of the Dharma at the time of listening. Devotion to the Dharma is abiding in the joy of the Dharma at the time of thinking. Striving for the yoga of devotion to the Dharma is abiding in the joy of the Dharma at the time of meditating. Subhuti, again, because a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the emptiness of the interior, until abiding in the emptiness of the nature of no thing, he should transform the great aggregate of sentient beings into a definite excellence. Thus, the practice of abiding in emptiness is shown. Subhuti, again, because a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the mindfulnesses, until abiding in the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddhas, he should transform the aggregate of sentient beings into a definite excellence in a way that does not focus on characteristics. Thus, abiding in white dharmas such as mindfulness is shown. Subhuti, again, Bodhi
