What is said as a way of refuting superimposition is that the nature of the imputed is non-existent. Whatever is conventionally true, the nature of the other-dependent, as previously stated, is not non-existent; for this reason, it is said that the other-dependent is existent. Whatever is said, such as "by imputing in this way to the two extremes," serves to engage in the establishment of the Middle Way, because it dwells in a place of precipice. What is said to be destroyed is: the conceptualization of extremes of superimposition and denigration will be destroyed. This means: Here, whatever shows that the nature of the other-dependent exists in this and that, and whatever shows the arising of things, etc., all of that is in accordance with the will of beings in the nature of conventional truth, for the purpose of completely abandoning the place of fear; it should be understood that it is said with the intention of guiding children. It is not ultimately true, for this is refuted in the sutras, as it is said in the noble *Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra*: "Having discriminated with wisdom, the other-dependent does not exist, and the imputed does not exist. If the nature of the established does not exist, how is wisdom not discriminated? Nature and consciousness, things and places do not exist; children controlled by evil discriminations impute these." Thus it is said. The noble Nāgārjuna also said: "On the one reality of emptiness as self, the mind imputes these: the imputed and the other-dependent, and likewise the perfectly established. Because of non-arising, the dharmas are emptiness, thus it is proclaimed. The five aggregates, in brief, are called all dharmas." Thus it is said. Therefore, in ultimate truth, the nature of conventional truth, which has one taste, because the nature does not exist, is free from the superimposition of the two, such as different and non-different, grasper and grasped, permanent and impermanent, etc. The five aggregates in a pure state will remain as long as space exists. Thus, having abandoned the two extremes and abiding in the Middle Way, and whatever bodhisattva who possesses this state of empowerment, seeing all of saṃsāra with skillful means, does not completely abandon this saṃsāra, and abides in that which does not closely perceive emptiness, that is the passing beyond sorrow here.

Not abandoning everything. Please tell me, how is the nature of non-remainder established due to non-discrimination? Whatever all phenomena such as form, whether it is their emptiness, whether it is their suchness, both real and unreal, and whether it is non-elaboration, in these, it is the nature of non-remainder without discrimination. Subhuti asked: How are actions and results established for phenomena that are non-existent in nature? The Blessed One said: If sentient beings do not know that all phenomena are non-existent in nature, how can they obtain the results of actions by performing actions with discriminating thoughts aroused by perverted views? In this regard, the four perverted views of permanence, happiness, self, and purity are the opposite of the selflessness of individuals. Attachment to reality is the opposite of the selflessness of phenomena. This is the activity of establishing the abandonment of perverted views. Sentient beings with perverted views clearly accumulate actions, and are completely defiled by them. This is action in conventional truth, but not in ultimate truth. Reality is like a hair tip divided into a million parts, not even a little exists. Where is it established and able to function? This is like dreams and illusions, and so on. This is the activity of establishing the knowledge of perverted views and non-existence. The equality of all phenomena, suchness, the ultimate limit, and nirvana, are also established by worldly terms, but not in ultimate truth, because they are inexpressible. This is the activity of establishing purification. If all phenomena are like dreams, that is, non-existent, even so, if sentient beings do not know this, and cling to reality and perform actions, they will go to happy and unhappy realms. In order to abandon their perverted views, the conduct of the Bodhisattva Sangha will completely ripen sentient beings until they attain enlightenment. This is the activity of establishing the pure Sangha. The Blessed One said: These are the realizations.
