They are not the sixteen. From the Intermediate Mother Sutra, it is explained from "the perfection of generosity" to "abiding in the perfection of wisdom," and so on. Therefore, there is great harm to the Good Lion (Sengge Zangpo) who says, "the compiler of the forbearance of knowing the Dharma of suffering." Because here, it is not the distinctions of the desire realm's afflictions in the stage of the forbearance of knowing the Dharma, and their imprints have also been abandoned long ago. In this state of non-conceptualization, great compassion and so on manifest, and truly accomplish the meaning of sentient beings, becoming the realization of the path of seeing, which is the Lion's Leaping Samadhi. In the path of cultivation, there is the Sudden Transcendence Samadhi, and in order to explain these, it is said, "everything also," and so on. Skillful means refers to skillful means, and relying on it becomes the means, which is the Lion's Leaping and Sudden Transcendence Samadhi. For the wise, one must observe dependent origination from the perspectives of arising in accordance with the order and reversing the order. From "conditioned by ignorance, action" to "conditioned by birth, aging, death, sorrow, suffering, unhappiness, and turmoil arise" is arising in accordance with the order. From "with the cessation of ignorance, action ceases" to "the cessation of birth and so on" is reversing the order. From the first dhyana to the ninth, which is the cessation attainment, one enters into samadhi through arising in accordance with the order. From arising from the cessation attainment, from the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception to the first dhyana, one enters into samadhi through reversing the order, which is the Lion's Leaping Samadhi. The Sudden Transcendence Samadhi is entering the first dhyana, then entering the second dhyana, third dhyana, fourth dhyana, the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, and the cessation attainment. Arising from that, one enters the first dhyana.

O! Having arisen from that, entering into the cessation attainment, as well as the second dhyana, as well as the cessation, as well as the third dhyana, as well as the cessation, as well as the fourth dhyana, as well as the cessation, as well as the space boundless realm, the cessation, as well as the nothingness realm, as well as the cessation, as well as the nothingness realm, as well as the cessation, as well as the neither perception nor non-perception realm, as well as the cessation. Having arisen from that, it is the mind of non-absorption. From that, one enters into absorption from cessation. Having arisen from that, one abides in the mind of non-absorption. Having arisen from that, it is the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. From that, it is non-absorption. Then it is the realm of slightly nothing. From that, it is non-absorption. Having arisen from that, it is the realm of infinite consciousness. From that, it is non-absorption. From that, it is the realm of infinite space. From that, it is non-absorption. From that, it is the fourth dhyana. From that, it is non-absorption. From that, it is the third dhyana. From that, it is non-absorption. From that, it is the second dhyana. From that, it is non-absorption. From that, it is the first dhyana. From that, it is non-absorption. There, from the initial going to the cause of abiding, to the second, there are seventeen comings, there are eighteen. This is the intention of the noble ones. Other than this, the establishment by Simhabhadra is not reasonable. Regarding that, in the treatise it says: "Then, the lion's majestic posture, having entered into samadhi, according to the principles of dependent origination, one contemplates according to the principles of agreement and disagreement. In the nine attainments together with cessation, having gone and come in two ways, the consciousness belonging to the desire realm, holding the boundary of non-absorption, because of entering into absorption in transcendence, one and two, three, four and five, having transgressed six and seven and eight, one goes non-absorbed until cessation." That is to say, from the beginning, one goes gradually to the nine attainments of cessation, and again, from one and so on, reversing the order, one does it together with cessation, and the other eight go, going in two ways. After that, the desire realm, which is the boundary of non-absorption that is universally practiced, is made the object of going and coming, which is called going differently, that is, non-absorption.
