Because of eliminating afflictions, one is an Arhat. Or because gods and humans are worthy of offerings and as a place of giving, one is an Arhat. Therefore, by the virtue of being worthy of offerings and becoming a place of giving, it is stated that the outflows are exhausted, and the root of birth and afflictions is the outflow. These are the outflow of desire, the outflow of existence, the outflow of ignorance, and the outflow of views, which are of four types. That is, in order, the five of the desire realm, the three of the existence realm, the imputed and innate ignorance, and the sixty-two views. Because these outflows are exhausted, it is the exhaustion of outflows. That is, in order, the two aggregates of morality and concentration, as well as the aggregate of liberation, the aggregate of liberation, the aggregate of seeing the wisdom of liberation, and the aggregate of wisdom, manifest the exhaustion of outflows. Again, it is correct concentration, and the wisdom of exhaustion and non-arising, correct liberation, and correct view. Again, it is completely knowing the cause of desire, completely knowing the cause of the aggregates, completely knowing the cause of actions, and completely knowing the cause of afflictions. Again, it is abandoning the truth of the origin of suffering, manifesting the truth of cessation, cultivating the truth of the path, and completely knowing the truth of suffering. Therefore, merely because of the exhaustion of outflows, it is stated that the virtue of purity is the absence of afflictions, which means the absence of all afflictions. The absence of all afflictions is of four types: the all-affliction of karma, the all-affliction of maturation, the absence of all-affliction of afflictions, and the all-affliction of birth. What causes all afflictions and suffering, what causes all afflictions, what causes all afflictions, what is all affliction. Regarding this, when ignorance ceases, actions cease, which is considered the absence of all afflictions of karma. When actions cease, consciousness, name and form, the six sense bases, contact, and feeling cease, which is the absence of all afflictions of maturation.

It is thought to be like this. When feeling ceases, craving and grasping also cease, and the cessation of craving is thought to be the absence of pervasive afflictions of afflictions. When existence ceases, birth, aging, and death also cease, and the cessation of birth is thought to be the absence of pervasive afflictions of birth. Pervasive afflictions are suffering, therefore, the merit of the absence of suffering due to the absence of afflictions is said to be the attainment of mastery. Mastery over miraculous powers, mastery over the senses, mastery over samadhi, and mastery over wisdom. How is mastery over these attained? Just as in order, one has particular mastery over sentient beings and the vessel world, and by gaining mastery over conduct, those become mastered merely by the world's delight, and their minds become mastered, and by severing all afflictions, karma, and maturation, one gains self-mastery as if liberated from bondage. What is called the utterly liberated mind is the liberation of the mind. What is called the utterly liberated wisdom is the liberation of wisdom. Among these, the attainment of samadhi and absorption by abandoning the afflictions of the side of existence is the liberation of the mind. What is attained by abandoning the afflictions of ignorance and the near afflictions is the wisdom of the path of attaining Arhatship, which is the liberation of wisdom. What is called the fearless one is the absence of fear, and there are five kinds of fearless ones. For example, there is no concern about harm from hail, etc., so it is the bull king fearless one. There is no fear of battle, so it is the horse fearless one and the elephant fearless one. There is no fear of harm from others, so it is the lion fearless one. There is no fear of death, so it is the Arhat fearless one. Similarly, here too, there are four kinds of concerns about fear: the concern about suffering, the concern about fear, the concern about worldly dharmas, and the concern about ignorance. Because these are absent, it is said in order that one has attained happiness, attained fearlessness, attained non-fear, and attained relief. Among these, because there is no sorrow, chanting of mantras, suffering, and discomfort, there is no concern about suffering. One is slandered and others
