On this, much was said. Therefore, the question of the Venerable Subhuti is that manifestation and fabrication are conceptualization. Similarly, merit manifested and fabricated is also conceptualization. Therefore, can it be said that the more merit, the more conceptualization? The answer is, the Blessed One said, from "Subhuti" to "arises immeasurable." Here, the path of meditation, because it lacks the nature of being as it is, is emptiness. What children do not understand is emptiness. "Only" means unique. Similarly, for appearance, extreme appearance is appearance. To change from non-appearance to appearance is appearance, which is the meaning of extreme appearance. Similarly, the following should also be observed. Because there is no autonomy, it is accumulated. Because it is not something to be grasped, it is empty. Because there is no attachment, there is no essence. "Thus" and so on are essence and so on. The rest is easy to understand. This is the answer to the question of generating immeasurable merit. The difference in the request of the Venerable Subhuti and so on is the difference. Separation is different, which is to make it different. To separate those, both must be grasped. Immeasurable means completely cutting off the gross. Number is counting. Inexhaustible is inexhaustible. Blessed One, whatever form and so on, is easy to understand. The remaining words are redundant, meaning the main word. Inexhaustible is like the sky. Immeasurable is also like the sky. Those dharmas are inexhaustible, immeasurable, emptiness, signlessness, and so on. Saying is like sound, and it is also various. Thus, although the meaning is the same, it is different when separated by parts. Therefore, here it is said that the teachings are attained, and the teachings are indicated by this, so it is the teachings, which is compassion. To attain it is to have a common cause. It is both and also the teachings, so it is the attainment of the teachings. Here, the scriptures say that the teachings of immeasurable and so on are not tolerable by the ultimate truth, but by the conventional truth.

Those who have compassion, they can agree to become a common cause. Having said this, saying "cannot bear" is unreasonable. This is to answer the rebuttal by showing the countless and so on. From "Subhuti asked" to "although, however" what is said is, saying "unspeakable" is because that is the realm of activity. The meaning of Prajñāpāramitā is the nature of emptiness. Here, the scripture says: "Things are unspeakable, they will not diminish or increase. Through the path of meditation, what will diminish and what will be gained?" Having said this, this is unspeakable, there is no diminishing or increasing of things. Then how will enlightenment be attained? Therefore, from "however" to the end of the chapter, what is said is, those who give and pay attention, and those who generate Bodhicitta, refers to who is giving. Those roots of virtue refer to who has generated Bodhicitta. How is enlightenment, in the same way, that is dedicated for the desired meaning. Otherwise, through that dedication, enlightenment will not be attained. Similarly, it should be applied to the following as well. As it is said, "How is unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment," etc., therefore from then on, venerable Subhuti and others asked. The Blessed One said, "Subhuti, unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment is suchness," and so on. Uninterrupted means again and again. Many means constantly. Thus, and so on, is the conclusion. Here, the scripture says: "How is enlightenment thus, this accomplishes the desired meaning, the nature of enlightenment suchness, that is also its nature." Having said this, that and that refers to the path of meditation. The chapter that mainly shows emptiness is the chapter of emptiness. The commentary on the difficult points of the Holy Eight Thousand Verse Prajñāpāramitā, The Essence Supreme, composed by the teacher Ratnākaraśānti, the fourteenth chapter.

From "Then, the Blessed One" to "etc. will change," it is said that "because the previous and subsequent minds are not related to Bodhi" is a rebuttal. From "Thus asked" to "can also be enlightened," the answer is given with the analogy of a lamp. Here, the scripture says, "The mind is not enlightened by the previous, nor by the subsequent." This is a rebuttal. The way of the lamp analogy is connected to "enlightenment." This is the answer. Then the scripture says, "The profound Dharma nature has eight aspects, connected to enlightenment." In the eighteenth chapter of "The Only Bodhi of the Nature of Suchness," it is taught that any aspect of Bodhi and its retinue are the eight profound ones. How are they eight? "Birth and cessation, as well as suchness and the knowable, knowledge and the object of experience are non-dual, skillful means are profound." It is said that non-duality and skillful means are distinguished by being grouped into one. Therefore, from "Thus reported" to "This dependent arising is profound," it is Subhuti who shows the state of profoundness. "Other" means not those. From "Thus asked" to "skillful means," the eight profound ones are spoken of. The so-called "which mind" refers to the unreal, completely conceptualized, and illusory nature. The so-called "cessation" means cessation because the continuum is exhausted. The so-called "not" means not that meaning, meaning that the false attachment appears as two and is cut off. This refers to the cessation of birth. The so-called "which mind arises" means without falsehood, because falsehood is cut off, it depends on the mind, so it is said that the mind arises. The so-called "dharma of cessation" refers to each moment. The so-called "cessation" refers to the cessation of the continuum. The so-called "not" means arising from its own nature, because it has the distinction of aspiration and so on, and it is made not to cease.
