Due to separation, those cannot be completely accumulated, this is the form of the Hearer's path. The section from "Bhagavan" etc., to "will manifest complete enlightenment" etc., is a distinction. For the Noble Hearer's path: Because the aggregates such as form are empty, Because the emptinesses are without difference, Because those heats are not apprehended, Therefore, they are considered to be the peak. For that constant etc. principle, Because the abiding is prevented, therefore they are the acceptances. Starting from the ten grounds, Because the non-abiding is extensively shown, therefore it is said to be the supreme of Dharma. Why? Because the Buddha, having known, did not see the dharmas. For "the Noble Hearer's path," it means that the reason for the path just taught by the Hearers is considered to be heat. How? The aggregates such as form are accumulations, therefore they are emptiness. Those emptinesses are also without difference. Those refer to not apprehending form etc., therefore they are considered to be the peak. For that, it refers to form etc. By the principle of constancy etc., its abiding is prevented, that is, the object of focus is prevented, therefore they are considered to be acceptances. Starting from the ten grounds, it means starting from the first and second grounds etc. "Starting from" means first. From "the first ground" etc., to "do not do," the accumulation of language does not extensively abide, because it is to show non-apprehension. How is it shown? Why? Because the Buddha knows, that is, manifests realization. Because not seeing the dharmas, it means together with the cause. What is it? It is considered to be the supreme of Dharma. Then, from "Venerable Subhuti" etc., and from "Indra" etc., and in the manner of an object of focus, one should not abide in "form is permanent" etc., and also from "Sariputra" etc., to "in the manner of non-abiding," those are in order heat, peak, acceptance, and the supreme of Dharma. Also, how are those that correspond to the definitive liberation division of the Hearer's those of the Hearer? Because those are cultivated for the sake of the Noble path.

Therefore, it is called the path of the Hearers. Now, the path of the Solitary Buddhas is to be described. The division of its sections is from "From then on, that assembly," etc., up to the end of what was spoken by Subhuti, and up to the end of "The Teacher is profound wisdom" after that. The meaning of 'word' is teaching. The remainder is explanation. Sound is language. Complete expression is the collection of words. 'Spoken' means expression, that is, through the collection of complete expressions. 'Explaining' is within the assembly. 'Teacher' is to those of that kind. 'Even one letter' means even just one letter. 'Unspoken' means not shown to others, like the rhinoceros-horn solitary realizer. 'That' means it should not be heard in the last existence. They cannot understand because of the power of hearing. 'Letter' means for self-manifested enlightenment without teaching. 'Perfection of Wisdom' means the noble path like that of a rhinoceros-horn solitary realizer. 'Without a teacher' means without a teacher. 'Unnecessary' means it is not necessary to be taught by others. Because of the profundity of wisdom, it is said that there are no letters, etc., because it does not arise from teaching, and because there is no showing to others, there are no letters. Why is that? Because the sons of the gods say "Tathagata," etc. 'Tathagata' is because of realizing Suchness. An Arhat is like a rhinoceros-horn solitary realizer. Perfectly Complete Buddha means abandoning the conceptual thought of grasping at objects. Bodhi is the wisdom that has become the fruit. To show that wisdom with an example, it starts from "For example," and goes up to "Subhuti does not exist." Alas, this Venerable Subhuti clarifies for us the path like that of a rhinoceros-horn solitary realizer. Thinking this, immediately from the profound and subtle path, the wisdom of Bodhi is shown to be very profound and subtle, and that is the profundity of wisdom. From then on, starting from "The venerable Subhuti," etc., up to "No one speaks, no one hears, no one teaches," those forms, etc., are not profound, not subtle.

It was said, because it is non-existent. Considering form, etc., that is, the absence of establishment, etc., is because it is non-existent. Thus, those who are like rhinoceroses have abandoned the conceptualization of grasping. From then on, from "the sons of the gods," etc., to "not to be made into two," those were spoken. Although the substance of the self is not visible, since it is imputed as sentient beings on the aggregates, sentient beings and the Dharma are heard as illusions, etc. For external forms, etc., they are also like illusions, etc., because their characteristics do not exist as they are. Thus, those who are like rhinoceroses have not abandoned the conceptualization of grasping. From then on, when this is taught, those who seek meaning and those who do not seek meaning, as appropriate, are questioned by the venerable Subhuti to the six venerable ones and hundreds of thousands of billions of sons of the gods. Who seeks meaning? It is desire. Profound because it is difficult to realize. Difficult to measure because it is self-awareness of each individual. Not the object of thought because it is beyond the path of thought. Subtle because all the proliferation of conceptualization is pacified. Wise because the realization of all dharmas as they are is the cause of wisdom. Difficult to see because it is not the object of the five aggregates of consciousness. Difficult to realize because it is not the object of the consciousness of the mind. Peaceful because all afflictions are pacified. Wonderful because all suffering is pacified. The most excellent of all dharmas is the most excellent. To be known by the wise and intelligent is because it is to be known by the non-returners, etc. The answer to the refutation and debate for those of the rhinoceros-like lineage who seek the meaning of words is: From then on, the venerable Subhuti said to those sons of the gods, up to when the Blessed One said to Indra, the lord of the gods. From then on, the Blessed One said to Indra, the lord of the gods, etc., and also said that the rhinoceros-like lineage is only the realm of Dharma. By the eye of Dharma, it is Dharma.
