It will not become sinful, because it has not been accumulated. Likewise, it will not become sinful when awake, this is a refutation. Having killed sentient beings in a dream and then waking up, saying, 'Aima, I killed! I killed! I killed well!' If one thus discriminates, will that become sinful? Asked again. The answer is: 'It arises only from one's own intentional action. It is not without intention.' If, because of the discrimination while awake, the action in the dream is intentional, and therefore has a result, then at the time of not being asleep, the discrimination of not being asleep is also intentional, and therefore also has a result, and is very much with result.' This is merely the answer. Again, the rebuttal: 'Didn't the Bhagavan say that all phenomena arising from the mind are empty? How then can it be from intentionality?' The answer is: 'It is intentional by way of name, but not in ultimate truth.' It is said, 'The venerable Subhuti,' and so on. The word 'in a dream' here is not understood as a name, because it is in accordance with the Dharma, so it is to show the way of non-objectification. If one abides in non-objectification, cultivates the six perfections, and dedicates them to Bodhi, will that become a dedication?' This is a rebuttal understood as without the word 'what'. The very nature of non-objectification of perfect and complete enlightenment, which is characterized by reaching the end of non-objectification, is the main part of the method, because the nature of non-objectification is the antidote to objectification, so the dream is non-objectification.' After answering indirectly, he said, 'The noble Subhuti, Maitreya is the ultimate one who has attained non-objectification, so ask him this question.' After asking, he also answered extensively about non-objectification in an indirect way. The Bhagavan also taught these words of the noble Maitreya, if one says, 'Is the dream also non-objectification because of non-discrimination?' The answer is: 'Although the dream is not empty of discrimination, but is non-discrimination, it is not the antidote to discrimination, so it is just like a dream.' This is the answer to the rebuttal. Pure Buddha-field

Acting with the power of purity, the sentient world is also like that. The vessel world is impure, and by accomplishing purity in it, the Buddha-field is indeed pure. Thus it is said. The Buddha-field is the sentient beings and the vessel world. Therefore, taming them is purity. Why? The characteristics of the sentient world, such as hunger, thirst, and suffering, are impure. When sentient beings see this, they accomplish the purity of the sentient world of their own Buddha-field, so that all the faults of the sentient beings of the Buddha-field do not arise, and they transform into enjoying the enjoyments of the gods, and now they practice the six perfections in this way. Likewise, in the impurity of the vessel world, whatever the characteristics of filth and cesspools are, when they see them elsewhere, they accomplish the purity of the vessel world of their own Buddha-field, so that it becomes as flat as the palm of the hand. Thereafter, from the venerable Subhuti to what is said between associating with perfect enlightenment. That is the unsurpassed pure land. Acting with the power of skillful means, this object and union, transcending from enemies, etc., non-abiding as it is, power and, uncommon characteristics and, non-attachment and non-objectification, sign, aspiration exhaustion and, its signs and immeasurable and, skillful means are ten kinds. Thus it is said. This is skillful means. The object is the first three samadhis in the sutra and the aspects of enlightenment that are spoken of. After that, the union of that object is that which also meditates on emptiness, etc., but does not manifest it. Transcending from enemies, etc., should be divided into ten unions, because they are related to the name of union. Therefore, the means are ten kinds of skillful means. Among them, the object is what is said from the venerable Subhuti, etc., to the practice of non-mixing. The union is what the Blessed One said.
