Because of the ground. Having reliance is like a king, because it is not wasteful. Because the king's hook does not let beings fall, the bodhisattva with the hook of reliance is also the same. Also, it is spoken with two words such as "other" and two words of question and answer. Knowing thus is knowing itself, relying on meaning rather than words. Therefore, even if the Dharma is taught in common language, it should be listened to respectfully. Also, in the second word "other", skillful means should be given, and the wisdom paramita of emptiness, which is not attached to the giver, etc., is established by reason, and has characteristics by reason. Therefore, one should rely on the Dharma. For the person who says, "All dharmas are not emptiness," it is not. The Buddha Bhagavan is the ultimate measure, therefore, one should rely on the sutras of definitive meaning, and not rely on the sutras of provisional meaning. The wisdom that arises from meditation is wisdom What arises from hearing and thinking is discriminating consciousness, therefore, what is seen by wisdom is not seen by discriminating consciousness. Therefore, one should rely on wisdom, not on discriminating consciousness. These two reliances are spoken through questions and answers, therefore, the Buddha Bhagavan must have done this, and one should rely on it. After that, Shariputra is discriminating consciousness, and is the questioner. The Tathagata is wisdom, and is the answerer. Having the accumulation of merit and wisdom is like a treasure, because it is the place of accumulation of many merits and wisdom. Also, it is spoken with nine words such as "other", of which seven words show the great accumulation of merit arising from discipline and meditation, because without these two, such supernormal knowledge is impossible. The eighth word shows the merit arising from giving, and these three words show merit. The ninth word shows the accumulation of wisdom. Having the aspects of enlightenment is the great path.

It is like that because all the noble beings have passed away and followed. It is also spoken of in three verses, beginning with "Furthermore." Here, the Perfection of Wisdom is the nature of the thirty-seven factors of the path to enlightenment. Everything else is shown as its fruit. Having calm abiding and insight is like a vehicle because it is easy to carry. It is also spoken of separately, starting from "Hearers" and so on, up to wanting to see the fields of the departed Tathagatas and so on. Here, the Perfection of Wisdom is the nature of calm abiding and insight. Everything else is its fruit. Because this has water, it is water. In the sense of having, "A" should be added as an ending. It is both an adornment and water, so it is the water of adornment. Having dharani and fearlessness is like adornment because it produces water and is inexhaustible, and it can retain and proclaim the heard and unheard Dharma and meanings that are in accordance with the Dharma. It is also spoken of from "East" and so on, up to "Above." Having Dharma teaching is like a pleasing sound because it makes those to be tamed who desire liberation hear pleasing sounds. Furthermore, by speaking of the two words of the teachings and explanations of the ten directions, such as the East, the four seals of Dharma are shown. Here, the Perfection of Wisdom is said to show the four seals of Dharma in all the realms of the ten directions. The four seals of Dharma are: all conditioned phenomena are impermanent, all contaminated phenomena are suffering, all phenomena are without self, and nirvana is peace. The so-called river is a stream of water. Having a single path is like a stream of a river because if one obtains tolerance of the unborn Dharma, it will arise spontaneously. The single path itself is because the activities of the Bodhisattvas belonging to it are not different. It is also spoken of in the words of the blind, deaf, and so on in the ten directions, such as the East. Here, the Perfection of Wisdom is the nature of the single path. Everything else is its fruit.

O! Having skillful means is like a cloud, just as all the wealth of the vessel world arises from clouds. By showing dwelling in the place of Tushita and so on, benefiting all sentient beings. Because it depends on that way. That is, from the beginning of what is called "The Conduct of the Tathagatas" to what is called "The Five Desirable Qualities." These show the twenty-two kinds of bodhicitta. Now the pith instructions are to be spoken, the speaking for the sake of understanding is the pith instruction. That is, closely instructing the oral instructions of the meaning of perfect completion. This also has ten aspects according to the difference of the place: Practice and truths, and the Three Jewels such as the Buddha, non-attachment, complete non-fatigue, complete holding of the path, the five eyes and the superknowledges, the six qualities and the path of seeing, and what is called meditation, the pith instruction should be known as the nature of ten. This is what was said. Practice is conduct. For what? For the Perfection of Wisdom, because it is the occasion itself. That is, like this, from "Endowed with Life" and so on, to "If you act like that, the Bodhisattva is acting in the Perfection of Wisdom." From then on, the benefits are shown, that is, through questions and answers, from "Giving the Dharma of the Buddha" and so on. Here, the Perfection of Wisdom is non-conceptual wisdom, it is the antidote to the ten kinds of distracting conceptualizations. What are those? Here, the verses are: Non-existent and existent, addition and slander, oneness and otherness, self-nature and difference, name as it is meaning and, meaning as it is name, any distracting conceptualization, that is said to be ten kinds. Among them, for the antidote to the conceptualization of non-existence, it is said that "the Bodhisattva himself clearly exists," meaning that the Bodhisattva himself exists in the manner of Dharma-nature. For the antidote to the conceptualization of existence, the Bodhisattva and so on are truly
