Thus, the nature of tranquility is proclaimed. The incompatible aspects and antidotes are greed and so on, and non-greed and so on. Tranquility is achieved through these. Any noble son, bodhisattva-mahasattva, from those who are tranquil with greed and non-greed, to the content between becoming self-possessed, proclaims the tranquility of incompatible aspects and antidotes. Difficulty refers to the content from "Any request, Blessed One" to "Those are practicing difficulty," proclaiming the nature of difficulty. Determination refers to determination itself, from "Noble son" to "Seeking armor? Yes," proclaiming the nature of determination. In order to completely liberate all sentient beings from suffering, and in order to attain omniscience, therefore it is the armor for accomplishing great deeds. What the Blessed One said, from "The Blessed One taught" to "Distributing armor," proclaims the accomplishment of great deeds. Non-object refers to the content from "Request" to "Practice," proclaiming non-object. Preventing manifest clinging refers to the absence of manifest clinging, from "After that again" to "In order to diligently engage in suchness," proclaims the absence of manifest clinging. What is the object? It refers to the object being the suchness of all dharmas. That is also non-dual, because suchness is the suchness of all-knowingness in the Buddha-fields. From "Any request" to "The profound nature of all dharmas," proclaims the nature of the object. Incompatible refers to what is difficult for all the world to believe. Proclaiming those dharmas is not for grasping or not grasping. Grasping refers to what worldly people refer to as "I" and "mine." From "Sons of the gods" to "Unable to practice," proclaims what is difficult for all the world to believe. Unobstructed refers to being unobstructed from form to omniscience. From "After that, the venerable one" to "No birth," proclaims the nature of unobstructedness.

Thus it was said. 'Without basis, without going, without arising,' etc. 'That' refers to the Dharma being indicated, which is without basis, without going, and without arising. Here, because form and so on have no support, there is no abiding. From 'What Dharma is this' to 'without support,' the nature of being without basis is explained. Here, because there is no going, there is no going. Thus, the Thusness of the Thus-Gone One is without going and without coming, and so it is for Subhuti as well. From 'acting in desire' to 'speaking in words,' the nature of being without going is explained. Here, because there is no arising, there is no arising. Because there is no subsequent arising, no subsequent arising of what, and no arising by what. From 'Venerable' to 'falling into the place of a solitary Buddha,' the nature of being without arising is explained. 'Suchness is not perceived,' etc. 'Suchness is not perceived' means that if the nature of form and so on is not perceived, how could the Suchness of form and so on be perceived? From 'Long Life' to 'falling into the place of a solitary Buddha,' the nature of Suchness not being perceived is explained. 'Sixteen natures' means that the sixteen aspects just mentioned are the nature. This is the fourth characteristic, because it surpasses the three characteristics of being able to do and able to establish. How do you regard this as a characteristic? It is said, 'Because it is expressed in the base,' that is, this is the base, it has characteristics, and it is the base to be expressed. This is the display of the characteristic of nature. Because it is to be said that it is in accordance with the part of liberation, therefore, giving without characteristics, etc., those who are skilled in accomplishing the truth, in this understanding of all aspects, are regarded as being in accordance with the part of liberation. Faith with Buddhas etc. as objects, diligence with generosity etc. as objects, mindfulness with perfect intention, Samadhi without discrimination, and in all aspects of all dharmas, wisdom of wisdom and five kinds, with the sharpness of perfect enlightenment, it is easy to understand, but difficult for the dull to understand.

The 'White Explanation' says this: the first verse is the characteristic, and the others are the excellent distinctions. From giving to the state of omniscience, not making this meditation a characteristic, and whoever is skilled in the assembly of those who have truly attained, is considered here to be in accordance with the aspect of liberation, this is the characteristic. The so-called five aspects are only the five excellent distinctions of it, namely: faith, diligence, mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom. Among them, focusing on the Buddha and others is faith. From 'Sharadvatiputra' to 'It should be known that one will not abide in the state of a solitary Buddha', what is said is in accordance with the aspect of liberation of the characteristic of faith. 'Giving and other objects of practice, diligence', from 'Why?' to 'Skillful means', what is said is the nature of diligence. 'Perfect aspiration, mindfulness', from 'Request, Blessed One' to 'There is no doubt about enlightenment', what is said is the nature of mindfulness. 'Non-conceptual samadhi', non-conceptual is because of looking outward, why is that? From 'Why?' to 'I will practice up to the state of omniscience', what is said is the nature of samadhi. 'Wisdom that knows all things in all aspects', from 'From then on, wanting to practice' to 'Because all things are completely pure', what is said is the nature of wisdom. 'Perfect enlightenment with sharpness, easy to realize', means easy to obtain, from 'From then on, the venerable one' to 'Empty by the nature of omniscience', what is said is in accordance with the aspect of liberation of sharpness. 'The dull-witted find it difficult to realize, White Explanation', from 'From then on, the venerable Sharadvatiputra' to 'That Bodhisattva Mahasattva will appear', what is said is this. Here, 'according to the truth' means the ultimate truth itself.
