Depending on the truth, thus, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva understands the meaning of the words such as "the suchness of all dharmas" and "definitely liberation arises in the unexcelled, perfectly complete enlightenment," then being free from fear and so on is in accordance with the sharp aspect of liberation. Explaining fear and so on is dull, which is in accordance with the dull aspect of liberation. Having shown the aspect of liberation in this way, in order to express the aspect in accordance with the decisive aspect, it is said: "The object of the warmths, is praised as all sentient beings, in those very ones, equanimity and so on, are explained as ten aspects." It is said that "here" refers to the complete manifestation of all aspects. The object of the warmths is all sentient beings. The ten aspects are equanimity towards all sentient beings, such as loving-kindness, compassion, the mind of subduing pride, the unwavering mind, the beneficial mind, the mind without anger, the mind without harm, the mind of mother, daughter, and sister, and the mind of father, brother, and son. After that, from the question of the venerable Subhuti to the point of "should be contemplated," is what was said as the warmth. Turning oneself away from sin, abiding in generosity and so on, and others, placing them in those, praising and speaking in accordance, is the peak. Turning oneself away from the ten non-virtuous deeds, abiding in generosity and so on, and equally abiding in dependent origination, placing others in those turning away and abiding, speaking the praise of those, and being in accordance is the peak. From "I also" to "abiding in the manner of non-objectification," is what was said as the peak. Likewise, forbearance is: self and others, dependent, knowing the truth. It is said that the arising of the knowledge of the truth of self and others is forbearance. From "I also should know suffering" to "abiding in the manner of non-objectification."

What is said is forbearance. Such excellent Dharma should be known by maturing sentient beings, etc. What is called the complete maturation of sentient beings depending on oneself and others is the excellent Dharma, that is, from "I will also completely mature all sentient beings" to "obtaining the forbearance of non-arising Dharma," the excellent Dharma is proclaimed. Having thus explained what is in accordance with the decisive aspect, in order to express the Sangha of non-retrogression, therefore, starting from the limb of determination. "In the paths of seeing and practice, whichever Bodhisattvas abide, they are the assembly of non-retrogression here." It is said that those who are in accordance with the decisive aspect, and the Bodhisattvas of the path of seeing and the path of meditation, are the Sangha of non-retrogression in this Great Vehicle. What is said from "Thus it was said" to "should be known." Here, from the ground of ordinary beings to the ground of the Tathagata, all of them are seen as inseparable from Suchness. In Suchness, it is each, not all, and if it is not all, it is not Suchness. The rest is easy to understand. This is the characteristic of non-retrogression. Signs such as turning away from form, etc., by stating twenty aspects, this is the characteristic of non-retrogression residing in the limb of determination. It is said that there are twenty signs of knowing that one abides in the non-retrogressive nature that is in accordance with the decisive aspect, starting from "turning away from form, etc." What are the twenty? Turning away from form, etc., and doubt, lack of leisure, exhaustion, abiding in virtue, and placing others in it, having the support of others, such as giving, etc., and there is no hesitation in the profound meaning, loving body, etc., and obscurations, not associating with the five aspects, destroying all sleep, and mindfulness and awareness, clean clothes and so on, no insects arise on the body, no deceitful mind is subdued, no taking and stinginess, etc., knowing that one has the nature of Dharma, for the benefit of sentient beings, hell.

Seeking, etc., not being able to be seduced by others, etc., understanding the demon who shows other paths as a demon, etc., the examination that pleases the Buddha, with those twenty signs, possessing warmth, peak, and patience, those who abide in the supreme Dharma, do not turn back from perfect Bodhi. Thus it is said, turning back from form, etc., is turning back from the object of focus, because those are without self-nature. Whatever is asked of the Bhagavan, from the beginning to the all-knowing, it is said to be without self-nature, because it accords with the decisive aspect, it is the first sign of non-retrogression. The sutra of the second sign, etc., is, one by one, from the words "Subhuti, furthermore," to the end, "should be known," and the nineteenth sign is, "if one thinks that is not the place," up to that point. Doubt and lack of leisure are exhausted, which means doubt is exhausted and lack of leisure is exhausted. Among them, doubt is the two doubts about the truth and the Three Jewels, the exhaustion of that, is the second sign of those. Wrong views, etc., are lack of leisure, the exhaustion of those, is the third sign of those. Oneself abiding in virtue, placing others in that, is the fourth sign of those. Giving, etc., dependent on others, means for the sake of all sentient beings, the practice of giving, etc., is the fifth sign of those. There is no hesitation about the profound meaning, it is the sixth sign of those. Loving body, etc., means the actions of body, etc., are the seventh sign of those. Obstructions, means not associating with the five aspects, etc.\ As the sutra says, not associating with the five obstructions, is the eighth sign of those. All latent tendencies are destroyed, etc., is the ninth sign of those. Mindfulness and awareness, etc., means awareness with mindfulness, is the tenth sign of those. Clothes, etc., are clean, etc., is the eleventh sign of those. Worms do not arise in the body, etc., is the twelfth sign of those. Without a deceitful mind, means body, speech, and mind.
