Then he asked about "that" and so on. If the object is not truly existent. The so-called "that," at that time, if the essence is not truly speakable, how will it exist? It will not exist. Because the object of the characteristics of conditioned phenomena should not be called the unspeakable essence. Because non-existence is the very absence of a basis. This is what was thought. Even if it is considered a basis, it will be the same. Because that is its own Dharma-nature, it is its own essence. The Blessed One therefore said, "Maitreya, you," etc., meaning patience, desire, and courage. The so-called "Prajnaparamita practice," because it is non-conceptual, it is the ultimate wisdom. When practicing it, because it is Samadhi, it is continuous entry. The so-called "is not," there is no object. The so-called "also with this term," the so-called "that" is a nearby wording. And the word "also" will also be explained. The so-called "term" is a kind. The so-called "non-different" is because Dharma and Dharma-nature are inseparable. The so-called "non-non-different" is because for the wisdom that truly knows the Dharma-nature, it does not appear separately. With "conditioned phenomena," etc., other terms were spoken. The so-called "if it becomes different" is if it becomes different. The so-called "if so" is if so. The so-called "will attain Nirvana or unsurpassed perfect enlightenment," if it is really different, then because it is not related to the afflictions that have become objects. If it is really non-different, then its characteristics will also become impossible for children to objectify, similar to the unspeakable essence. Because for the objectified characteristics, one will attain the unspeakable essence, just like the diligent practice for its opponent. Maitreya asked: If that object is not objectified in the Prajnaparamita practice closely related to the unspeakable essence, then does it not exist or does it exist? The Blessed One taught: For it, does something exist?

Nothing whatsoever becomes the present, but when it becomes conceptualization, it appears to conceptualization. When it is free from conceptualization, it does not appear, therefore, it is not truly existent, because it is not the realm of sacred wisdom. It is also not non-existent, because it is the appearance of conceptualization. One who is called skilled in distinguishing dharmas refers to the distinction of dharmas, which are the three natures: the completely imputed, the dependent, and the thoroughly established. Here, in order, the form, etc., of the completely imputed, the form, etc., of the dependent, and the form, etc., of the nature of reality are shown. Among these, because it appears but does not exist, it is the completely imputed. Because it is produced by causes and conditions, it is the dependent. In the dependent, whatever is empty of the nature of the completely imputed is the nature of the thoroughly established, because it exists in that way at all times. Whatever is the dependent is conceptualization, because it exists in one way but appears in another way. The nature of reality of dharmas, which is emptiness, is thusness, therefore, the nature of the thoroughly established is called the nature of reality. Question: Which of these are substantial and which are not? What is the ultimate distinction between what is not substantial and what is substantial? The Blessed One answered the three in order. Among them, the Blessed One said that conceptualization arises from taking what is substantially existent. Question: Blessed One, how is it that you consider form, etc., to be non-dual, and then consider all dharmas to be non-dual? The Blessed One answered: The three, such as the completely imputed, the distinction of form is not form, nor is it non-form. Whatever is not form and is also not non-form is non-dual. Likewise, it is the same among the unmixed dharmas of the Buddhas, therefore it is counted as non-dual. Question: How does a Bodhisattva become skilled in this non-dual realm?
