The self is the path of seeing, having the power of knowing everything. It is said to show the sixteen moments in order. Form is not permanent, nor impermanent, Beyond extremes and pure, Unborn, unceasing, and so on, Like space, abandoning attachment, Liberated from complete grasping, The nature is inexpressible, Why is this meaning expressed? It cannot be given to others, Acting without an object, Extremely pure, no disease arises, The evil destinies are cut off, and the fruit is Manifest to be done, without discrimination, Not connected with impure signs, In objects, names, and both, There is no arising of knowledge, It is the moment of omniscience. Among them, "Form is not permanent, nor impermanent," means: Form, feeling, etc., up to the ultimate of all-knowing wisdom, with its own nature of luminosity and without the nature of discrimination, is neither permanent nor impermanent, which is the forbearance of the Dharma-knowledge of suffering. "Beyond extremes" means being separated from discrimination, beyond the two extremes of permanence and annihilation, which is the Dharma-knowledge of suffering. "Pure" means that the nature of form, etc., is completely pure, which is the forbearance of the subsequent knowledge of suffering. "Unborn, unceasing, and so on," means that the ultimate of form, etc., up to all-knowing wisdom, is unborn and unceasing, without defilements, and without purification, which is the subsequent knowledge of suffering. "Like space" means that the ultimate of form, etc., up to all-knowing wisdom, is liberated from all exaggerations of elaboration by its own luminous nature, which is the forbearance of the Dharma-knowledge of origination. "Abandoning attachment" means that the nature of form, etc., is completely pure, like the sky, without being stained, which is the subsequent knowledge of origination. "Liberated from complete grasping" means that form, etc., like the sky, has no grasper or grasped, which is the forbearance of the subsequent knowledge of origination. "The nature is inexpressible" means that the nature of form, etc., appears without discrimination, so it is inexpressible, that is, the expresser and

That which is called "without expression" is the subsequent knowledge of the origin. Combining "by expression" and "liberation," the causes of what is to be expressed and what expresses, by these, form and so on are liberated. As for "what if," it is said that because this meaning cannot be obtained by others through the cause of expression, therefore form and so on are inexpressible and without cause, which is the forbearance of knowledge of dharma for cessation. "Making no object" means that form and so on do not make the nature of what is to be objectified, which is the knowledge of dharma for cessation. "Extremely pure" refers to form and so on, because in that very suchness there is not even a trace of impurity, therefore it is extremely pure, which is the forbearance of subsequent knowledge for cessation. "No disease arises" means that because form and so on are extremely pure, diseases and so on will not arise, which is the subsequent knowledge for cessation. As for "evil destinies cease," the cessation of evil destinies is the transcendence of evil destinies, and by believing that form and so on are extremely pure, evil destinies will cease, which is the forbearance of knowledge of dharma for the path. "Non-conceptual nature" means that the conceptualization of the arising and ceasing of all dharmas is exhausted, but even so, by believing that form and so on are extremely pure, it is the knowledge of dharma for the path. As for "manifesting the fruit" and "not related to signs," it means that in order to manifest the fruits of the Buddhas and so on, completely abandoning the causes of conceptualization, which are the signs, is the forbearance of subsequent knowledge for the path. As for "object, name, and the two," and "no arising of consciousness," "object" refers to what is to be expressed, which is the reality of meaning. "Name" refers to what expresses it, which is the word. "The two" refers to what is grasped and what grasps. "Consciousness" refers to the meaning of what is said, which does not arise in ultimate reality. The conjunction "and" is connective, that is, what is to be expressed and what expresses, as well as what is grasped and what grasps, do not arise, which is the subsequent knowledge for the path, and the moment of omniscience. All of these, which are possessed by Bodhisattvas, should be understood as the nature of the path of seeing, which is sixteen moments.
