Extreme ignorance of power, and its adverse aspects of unfavorable circumstances. For the tenth bhumi, there is extreme ignorance of great superknowledge, and extreme ignorance of entering subtle secrets, and its adverse aspects of unfavorable circumstances. Also, in the realm of the Buddha, there is extreme ignorance of attachment that is extremely subtle to all knowable things, and extreme ignorance of obstruction, and its adverse aspects that have turned into favorable aspects. In short, these obscurations of the Buddha's realm, even though they are possessed by the tenth bhumi itself, although not abandoned, should be included here. The obscurations of the Buddha's realm are established on the tenth bhumi itself, that is, the state of extremely subtle non-afflictive ignorance, and the habitual tendencies of afflictions, are the obscurations of the Buddha's realm, as some former teachers have taught, but in essence, they also fall under this category. These specific unfavorable aspects of the bhumis come from the "Entering the Self Bhumi": When the eleven branches are complete, the eleven bhumis such as Joyful, two ignorances, and one unfavorable circumstance, these unfavorable aspects are different. This is according to the manner of speaking, as explained by the sutra of the Great Vehicle called the "Explication of the Thought of the Holy One." The signs of obtaining those bhumis should be understood from the form of dreams. Thus, when dreams become warm, they will not exist, because there the five obscurations such as sleep have been exhausted. Thus, if one asks how those signs can be definitely determined in dreams, it is indeed true, but nevertheless, sleep is of two kinds, namely, the nature of uncontrolled afflictions, and the nature that is the opposite of that. Even though it has been initially destroyed on the path of application itself, the sleep that is considered virtuous because it causes the body to grow through special blessings is definitely present even on those bhumis, so there is no fault in this. Others say that the appearance of sudden awareness like a dream occurs because on those bhumis all dharmas are realized as being like dreams, so it is indicated by the name of dreams. Here, what is the use of proving something that contradicts the scriptures? Do not use other sounds to indicate these unnecessary words of scripture. Regarding those signs, on the first bhumi, the three thousand great thousands of worlds

One sees a realm of a great thousandfold world system, filled with countless treasures. On the second ground, one sees the realm of the three thousand great thousandfold world system, like the palm of one's hand, adorned with countless jewels. On the third ground, one sees oneself being brave, holding weapons and strong armor, subduing all external enemies. On the fourth ground, one sees four wind mandalas blowing from four directions, on a great wheel possessing all the earth, scattered with various flowers. On the fifth ground, one sees a woman adorned with all ornaments, wearing a garland of champaka flowers on her head. On the sixth ground, one sees a pond with four steps, spread with golden sand, clear and without impurities, filled with water possessing eight qualities, adorned with utpala flowers, lotuses, and white lotuses, and one sees oneself enjoying oneself there to one's heart's content. On the seventh ground, one sees cliffs of the hells of beings on both the left and right sides, and one sees oneself returning from there without fear or hesitation. On the eighth ground, one sees on both shoulders a lion with a mane, the king of beasts, wearing a crown, causing all small animals to be afraid and abiding. On the ninth ground, one sees oneself as a universal monarch, surrounded by countless people, all looking ahead, and one sees a white umbrella adorned with various jewels held above one's head. On the tenth ground, one sees the body of the Thus-Gone One, the color of gold, radiating light, surrounded by countless Brahmas, all looking ahead, listening to the Dharma being taught. This is what I have collected and arranged from the Mahayana Sutra Spoken by the Noble Inexhaustible Intelligence. If someone sees these signs at an inappropriate time, one should know that it is the power of mantra or the blessing of a demon. The fruit of these grounds is the light of the Buddha, and furthermore, the later grounds are earlier than the former.
