Etc., it is taught that the benefit of sentient beings is through the very nature of being separated. It refutes the idea that it is sufficient to merely think, "May all sentient beings be happy." That is the meaning of actually accomplishing in accordance with understanding what should be taken and abandoned, and then understanding again, which is the four activities. The so-called "own benefit" is because one has not separated from being manifestly attached to one's own benefit. The so-called "well distinguished by the purity of the three spheres" is as previously stated: "Those who are skilled in truly accomplishing the formless giving, etc., those who understand all aspects, are considered to be in accordance with the part of liberation." etc. The so-called nature of the benefit of oneself and others is to abandon killing, abandon taking what is not given, abandon sexual misconduct, abandon lying, abandon harsh speech, abandon divisive speech, abandon harmful thoughts. These are abandoning harm to others, so they are included in benefiting others. Abandoning idle talk, greed, and wrong views is abandoning harm to oneself, so it is included in benefiting oneself. Or, the so-called benefit of oneself and others, if it is not dedicated to Buddhahood, like the Shravakas, it is not only for one's own benefit, but for the benefit of both. The so-called path to Buddhahood is that although many paths and branches of the path have been taught for the purpose of attaining Buddhahood, the main ones among them are these ten virtues, so it is said as such. The so-called path of the ten virtuous actions is that these are virtuous because their fully ripened results are lovely and pleasing. The three of body, the four of speech, and the three of mind are the ten. The so-called path of action is that, according to the principle that "A moment does not remain other, and even the mind without a doer, by what does it act as if with a doer? That thought is the action of the mind," action is thought. That thought also follows abandoning greed, abandoning harmful thoughts, and abandoning wrong views, and enters into their path, so the path of that action is those. The remaining seven, such as killing, etc., are both action and thought, and first arouse and generate these, and then also rely on and enter into these, so they are also the path of action. It is said as such.

In the presence of the venerable Vasubandhu, it is said in the verses of the Abhidharma-kośa: "Three or seven are also karma." And the nature of karma is also said: "That is thought and what is done by it; thought is the karma of the mind; that which arises from it is the karma of body and speech." Thus. Then, the so-called familiarization with the emptiness of all phenomena by their own nature is merely established as familiarization by the power of faith and attention, but it is not the actual basis. For it is established as attending to suchness in the Joyful Ground and so on. After that, the so-called reliance on the perfection of generosity is because generosity is the supreme of meritorious actions, and in order to fulfill the wishes of a mind that has accumulated immense merit, generosity is the cause of the Dharma in the first ground, the nature of realizing the all-pervading Dharmadhatu, the non-duality of Dharma, that is, the meaning of combining with it. Accumulations are the two, merit and wisdom, of the first ground. The so-called "because it has become the cause of complete perfection" means that even though one abides in the special accumulations on the Joyful Ground, it is still not complete, so in order to complete them, on the second ground and so on, all the Dharma of the perfections such as discipline are completely perfected, and at that time, one also knows that these are nominal designations, and they are established not in the manner of grasping them as objects of investigation. The so-called "in the same way" refers only to reliance on nominal designation. The characteristic of not manifestly clinging to the objects of knowledge and what is to be known, the so-called "all phenomena are without object," means that because the minds of grasping and being grasped are completely reversed, these appear as various aspects of the Dharmadhatu without distinction, and this becomes certain. Thus, in order to know, there is no distinction between self and other, and by seeing it as one's own benefit, sentient beings are matured, and because there is no manifest clinging, wisdom and activity are combined, and that is the power of the perfection of means. Among them, the maturation of sentient beings is the attainment of heat and so on, and like the ripening and unripening of fruit, it is workable, which is the instruction given by my root guru. Thus, it is also taught in the Ornament of the Sutras. Hearing
