Therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, he knows all the virtuous dharmas he has undertaken to be like dreams. He knows them to be like echoes, like mirages, like shimmering heat, like illusions, and like apparitions. When he practices the Prajnaparamita, he knows the Perfection of Giving, the Perfection of Ethics, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Meditation, the Perfection of Wisdom, inner emptiness, and even the emptiness of the nature of non-things, mindfulness, correct abandonment, the foundations of miraculous powers, faculties, powers, branches of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the noble truths, meditation, immeasurables, formless absorptions, liberations, the successive abidings of absorption, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, all samadhis, all dharani gates, the powers of the Tathagata, fearlessnesses, individual correct knowledge, great compassion, the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, and even all-knowingness, to be like dreams. He knows them to be like echoes, like mirages, like shimmering heat, like illusions, and like apparitions. He knows that all those sentient beings also act in dreams. He knows that they all act in echoes, mirages, shimmering heat, illusions, and apparitions. Therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, he perceives the dream-like dharmas as non-existent, and by holding them in this way, he attains all-knowingness.

can be obtained. The perfection of wisdom is also not to be grasped. The perfection of meditation, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of patience, the perfection of discipline, and the perfection of generosity are also not to be grasped. Inner emptiness is also not to be grasped. Even between the emptiness of the nature of non-things is not to be grasped. Mindfulness and, correct abandonment and, miraculous feet and, faculties and, powers and, branches of enlightenment and, the eightfold noble path are also not to be grasped. Noble truths and, meditation and, immeasurables and, formless absorptions and, liberations and, gradual abidings in absorption and, emptiness and, signlessness and, wishlessness and, superknowledges and, samadhi and, the doors of dharani are also not to be grasped. The powers of the Tathagata and, fearlessnesses and, individual correct knowledges and, great compassion and, the unmixed qualities of the Buddha are also not to be grasped. Therefore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, having known that all dharmas are not to be grasped, strives for unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. Why is that? Because all dharmas are not to be grasped and are without substance, like a dream and, like an image and, like a mirage and, like a city of gandharvas and, like an illusion and, like an emanation, sentient beings have not known, have not seen, have not realized these dharmas, therefore they cannot obtain any dharma that is not to be grasped, therefore the Bodhisattva Mahasattva enters into unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings, from the arising of the first mind, he approaches, whatever generosity he gives, he gives for the sake of all sentient beings. Whatever discipline he guards and, whatever patience he cultivates and, whatever diligence he exerts and, whatever meditation he enters into and, whatever wisdom he cultivates, he cultivates for the sake of all sentient beings, not for his own sake. The great being, the great hero, does not enter into unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment solely for the sake of sentient beings. When he practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if a sentient being dwells in the perception of sentient being in what is without sentient being, dwells in the perception of self in what is without self, dwells in the perception of life in what is without life, dwells in the perception of a goer in what is without a goer, dwells in the perception of a nourisher in what is without a nourisher, dwells in the perception of a person in what is without a person, dwells in the perception of a pudgala in what is without a pudgala, dwells in the perception of a powerful one in what is without a powerful one, dwells in the perception of a lord of power in what is without a lord of power, dwells in the perception of a maker in what is without a maker, dwells in the perception of a causer to make in what is without a causer to make, dwells in the perception of a beggar in what is without a beggar, dwells in the perception of a causer to beg in what is without a causer to beg, dwells in the perception of a feeler in what is without a feeler, dwells in the perception of a causer to feel in what is without a causer to feel, dwells in the perception of a knower in what is without a knower, dwells in the perception of a seer in what is without a seer, those ones are completely liberated from perversion, are completely released from perversion, and are established in the realm of the undying. Having established them in that, these courses do not proceed at all, namely, the perception of self, the perception of sentient being, the perception of life, the perception of a goer, the perception of a nourisher, the perception of a person, the perception of a pudgala, the perception of a powerful one, the perception of a lord of power, the perception of a maker, the perception of a causer to make, the perception of a beggar, the perception of a causer to beg, the perception of a feeler, the perception of a causer to feel, the perception of a knower, the perception of a seer, the perception of a seer do not proceed at all. Having abandoned these agitations, conceits, burnings, and elaborations, he cultivates and practices extensively with a non-elaborating mind. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva, the great being, with those aspects,
