Or proclaiming melodious music, or shaking the earth, or displaying visions, or manifesting the realm of the seven precious jewels, transforming in various ways. Wherever and whatever benefits sentient beings, I give away from my own body. For the sake of sentient beings, sometimes I give away my body, sometimes I transform into fragrant scents, sometimes I perform great sacrifices without killing, sometimes I liberate infinite sentient beings from the wrong path, causing them to turn away from killing, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, harsh speech, divisive speech, false speech, idle chatter, attachment, hatred, and wrong views. To some, I benefit through generosity; to some, I benefit through moral discipline; for the sake of some, I completely give away my limbs; for the sake of some, I completely give away my children and wives; for the sake of some, I completely give away my kingdom; for the sake of some, I even completely give away myself. Thus, in whatever ways that benefit sentient beings, I act for the benefit of sentient beings. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, because all dharmas are without characteristics and possesses the mind of diligence, he perfects the Perfection of Diligence. Subhuti inquired: "Lord, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, when practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, abide in the dharmas without characteristics and perfect the Perfection of Dhyana?" The Lord replied: "Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he perfects all other dhyanas except for the Tathagata's Samadhi. He dwells in the first dhyana, secluded from desires, secluded from evil and unwholesome dharmas, with thought and examination, born of seclusion, with joy and pleasure. And also the second dhyana, the third dhyana, and the fourth dhyana."

Having diligently practiced, he abides. He, with a mind endowed with love, a mind endowed with compassion, a mind endowed with joy, and a mind endowed with equanimity, fills and diligently practices, abiding in all places, pervading all that is encompassed by the realm of worldly phenomena, reaching to the limits of the sky. He diligently practices and abides in the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. He abides in that perfection of meditative concentration, entering into and arising from the eight liberations in accordance with and contrary to the order. He diligently practices and abides in the nine successive states of meditative absorption, the concentration on emptiness, the concentration on signlessness, and the concentration on wishlessness. He diligently practices and abides in the uninterrupted concentration. He diligently practices and abides in the concentration like lightning, the correct concentration, and the diamond-like concentration. He diligently practices and abides in the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. Abiding in this perfection of concentration, with the wisdom of knowing the aspects of the path, he encompasses all concentrations within the category of knowing the aspects of the path, and transcends the stage of white appearance. Having transcended the stage of white appearance, he transcends the lineage stage, the eighth stage, the stage of seeing, the stage of attenuation, the stage of detachment from desire, the stage of having realized what has been done, and the stage of the solitary Buddha. Having transcended the stage of the solitary Buddha, he enters the flawless stage of the Bodhisattva. Having entered the flawless stage of the Bodhisattva, he is perfected by the Buddha. He practices these, and until he obtains the wisdom of all-knowingness, he does not obtain the intermediate result in the bardo. Abiding in this perfection of concentration, having perfected all the superknowledges, he attends to the Buddhas, the Bhagavad.

Those Tathagata Bhagavat should be revered. And with whatever roots of virtue the Buddha-fields become completely pure, and the roots of virtue that cause sentient beings to become completely mature, are generated for those Tathagata Bhagavat, going from world to world, doing the benefit of sentient beings. Therefore, some sentient beings are completely gathered by generosity, some are completely gathered by ethics, some are completely gathered by patience, some are completely held by diligence, some are completely gathered by samadhi, some are completely gathered by wisdom, some are completely gathered by liberation, some are completely gathered by the wisdom vision of liberation, some are well placed in the fruit of stream-enterer, some are well placed in the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, and the state of Arhat, some are well placed in self-awakening, some are well placed in the unsurpassed perfect complete awakening. In that way, with whatever virtuous Dharma one can see sentient beings, one is connected with that Dharma. He dwells in the perfection of samadhi, manifests all the doors of dharani, perfectly obtains the fourfold perfect knowledge, and also obtains the superknowledges arising from maturation, therefore he will never be born in the womb due to the power of karma and afflictions, and will never rely on desire. For the sake of completely maturing sentient beings, there is no rebirth that is not accepted, and he will not be stained by the faults of rebirth. What is the reason for that? Because he completely sees, completely knows, and completely understands all phenomena like illusions, therefore he knows all actions like illusions, and is held by great compassion, doing the benefit of all sentient beings. However, for him, there is no object of sentient being or what can be established as a sentient being. Because he does not grasp all phenomena, he follows the worldly conventions, and places sentient beings in that ungraspable realm, but from the ultimate truth, it is not so. He...
