I abide in the perfection of meditative concentration, and I engage in all meditations, liberations, samādhis, and attainments, and until I awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete awakening, I will never be separated from the perfection of meditative concentration. Abiding in this perfection of meditative concentration, merely by knowing the aspect of the path, I will realize all-knowingness, and abiding in it, I will completely abandon all afflictions that connect to habitual tendencies. Abiding in it, having completely abandoned all afflictions that connect to habitual tendencies, I will also accomplish my own benefit, and I will also accomplish the benefit of others. Having thus accomplished the benefit of myself and others, I will become a place of veneration for the world with its gods, humans, and asuras. Subhūti, thus, when a bodhisattva-mahāsattva engages in the perfection of wisdom, he perfects the perfection of meditative concentration of a mind without characteristics and separated from characteristics regarding all phenomena. That is to say, any uncontaminated phenomena such as generosity are a single moment of realization of a mind whose nature is gathered into a single moment, and this is the first. Subhūti asked: Blessed One, how does a bodhisattva-mahāsattva, when engaging in the perfection of wisdom, abide in phenomena without characteristics and perfect the perfection of wisdom? The Blessed One replied: Subhūti, here, when a bodhisattva-mahāsattva engages in the perfection of wisdom, he does not truly observe any phenomena that are real or perfectly established. He does not truly observe the reality and perfect establishment of form. He does not truly observe the reality and perfect establishment of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. When he understands it in this way, he does not focus on the nature of form. He does not focus on the nature of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. Up to the all-knowingness of...

The nature between them is not observed. When he practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he realizes that all dharmas are of the nature of non-things. As he realizes this, when he practices inner emptiness, practices outer emptiness, practices inner and outer emptiness, and practices between the emptiness of the nature of non-things, whether it is form, feeling, perception, formation, or consciousness, or the sense bases, or the elements, or dependent origination, or the perfections, or all emptinesses, or the aspects of enlightenment, or the noble truths, or the meditations, or the immeasurables, or the formless absorptions, or the liberations, or the successive abidings, or emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, or the superknowledges, or the samadhis, or the gateways of dharani, or the powers of the Thus-Gone One, or the fearlessnesses, or the individual perfect knowledges, or great love, or great compassion, or the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha, up to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, he has no attachment to any dharma. When he practices the Perfection of Wisdom with the nature of non-things, he perfects the path to enlightenment. That is to say, he perfects the six perfections, all emptinesses, the thirty-seven aspects of enlightenment, the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the liberations, the successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samadhis, the gateways of dharani, the powers of the Thus-Gone One, the fearlessnesses, the individual perfect knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the eighteen unmixed dharmas of the Buddha. And he fully possesses the thirty-two marks of a great person and the eighty minor marks. This is the mind of enlightenment.
