There is no apparent attachment. Feeling and, perception and, formations and, consciousness, with desire or without desire, appearing with or without desire, appearing without attachment, appearing without attachment. Sense bases and, elements and, dependent origination, with desire or without desire, appearing without attachment. Up to the state of all-knowingness, with desire or without desire, appearing without attachment. Form is solitary or not solitary, there is no apparent attachment. Feeling and, perception and, formations and, consciousness solitary or not solitary, there is no apparent attachment. Sense bases and, elements and, dependent origination solitary or not solitary, there is no apparent attachment. Up to the state of all-knowingness solitary or not solitary, there is no apparent attachment. Why is that? Because of the absence of inherent existence, there is no apparent attachment to what is called permanent or impermanent, happiness or suffering, self or no-self, peace or non-peace, emptiness or non-emptiness, sign or signless, having desire or not having desire, solitary or not solitary. Essence cannot be established by essence, because Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom, the Perfection of Concentration, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Ethics, and the Perfection of Generosity, will abide in the state of all-knowingness. Subhuti, for example, the four divisions of the army of a Chakravartin king go wherever the Chakravartin king goes. Subhuti, similarly, these five perfections also follow the Perfection of Wisdom, and they abide where the state of all-knowingness is, just like going wherever one wants to go, it is a discriminating mind without obstruction.

Therefore, these are the nine initial ways of thinking about clinging. Subhuti, for example, a charioteer rides a chariot with four pairs of horses and travels on a level road. Similarly, the Perfection of Wisdom, being the charioteer of the five perfections, also travels smoothly on the path to omniscience. This is known as a way of thinking that what is done does not necessarily happen as expected. Request: Bhagavan, what is the path of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas? What is not the path? The Bhagavan said: In order to attain omniscience, the path of the Hearers is not the path of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. The path of the Solitary Buddhas is not the path of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. In order to attain omniscience, the six perfections preceded by the Perfection of Wisdom are the path of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. This is called the path and non-path of the Bodhisattva, which is a way of thinking with a definite clinging to the path and non-path. Request: Bhagavan, in this way, the Perfection of Wisdom, which indicates the path and non-path, exists for the sake of great meaning for the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. The Bhagavan said: Subhuti, it is so, it is so. The Perfection of Wisdom indicates the path and non-path, therefore it exists for the sake of great meaning among the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. The Perfection of Wisdom exists for the sake of immeasurable meaning among the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. The Perfection of Wisdom exists for the sake of countless meanings among the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. Although the Perfection of Wisdom also elucidates these meanings, it does not completely cling to form, nor does it completely cling to feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. It does not exist for the sake of completely clinging to the state of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas.

This Prajnaparamita does not cause Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, nor does it abandon the ground of the Hearers and the ground of the Solitary Buddhas, nor does it bestow all-knowingness. Thus, if the nature of Dharma itself is taken as the standard, then this Prajnaparamita neither generates any Dharma nor eliminates any Dharma. Asked: O Blessed One, if this Prajnaparamita neither generates any Dharma nor eliminates any Dharma, then, O Blessed One, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, when practicing Prajnaparamita, perfectly give alms? How should they keep the precepts? How should they cultivate patience? How should they exert diligence? How should they enter into meditative concentration? How should they cultivate wisdom? The Blessed One said: Alms should be given with the aim of all-knowingness. Precepts should be kept with the aim of all-knowingness. Patience should be cultivated with the aim of all-knowingness. Diligence should be exerted with the aim of all-knowingness. One should enter into meditative concentration with the aim of all-knowingness. Wisdom should be cultivated with the aim of all-knowingness. They should also dedicate those roots of virtue, making them common with all sentient beings, to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. One should dedicate in such a way that one does not think: Who is the one who dedicates? What is the object of dedication? Where is it dedicated? Thus, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva dedicates those roots of virtue to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, then from the perfection of the practice of the six perfections, up to the perfection of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva's cultivation of loving-kindness, and the cultivation between all-knowingness will also be perfected. Bodhisattva-Maha
