Not to mention that all beings in the great trichiliocosm are established in the stage of seeing. Even if all those beings in the great trichiliocosm were established in the Subtle Ground, their merit would not even approach one hundredth of the merit of a Bodhisattva generating the first thought. It would not even approach one thousandth, one millionth, or even one hundred thousand trillionth. Comparison and cause are also unbearable. Why is that? Because those who abide in the Subtle Ground arise from Bodhisattvas, but the great Bodhisattvas do not arise from the Subtle Ground. Those who arise from the ground of realization are not Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. Let alone all sentient beings of the three-thousand great thousand world systems abiding in the ground of realized action. Even if all those sentient beings of the three-thousand great thousand world systems were to abide in the ground of Pratyekabuddhas, their merit would not even approach one part in a hundred of the merit of a Bodhisattva generating the first thought. Not even one part in a thousand, one part in a hundred thousand, or even one part in a hundred thousand million. There is no comparison between example and cause. Why is that? Pratyekabuddhas arise from Bodhisattvas, but Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not arise from Pratyekabuddhas. Let alone all sentient beings of the three-thousand great thousand world systems abiding in the ground of Pratyekabuddhas. Even if all those sentient beings of the three-thousand great thousand world systems were to enter the faultless state of a Bodhisattva, their merit would not even approach one part in a hundred of the merit of a Bodhisattva entering Bodhi. Not even one part in a thousand, one part in a hundred thousand, or even one part in a hundred thousand million. There is no comparison between example and cause. Why is that? Those who have entered the faultless state of a Bodhisattva arise from Bodhisattvas, but Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas do not arise from those who have entered the faultless state of a Bodhisattva. does not approach. It also cannot be counted. It also cannot rain. It also cannot be numbered. It also cannot be exemplified. It also cannot be a cause, this is called the unobstructed samadhi. O Bhagavan, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva first generates the mind, what should he contemplate? The Bhagavan said: One should contemplate the All-knowingness, which is called the nature of All-knowingness, which is Buddhahood. O Bhagavan, what is the entity of All-knowingness like? What is the object like? What is the dominion like? What is the aspect like? What is the nature like? The Bhagavan said: Subhuti, what is called All-knowingness is without entity, without nature, without sign, without action, without birth, without cessation. Subhuti, if someone says, what is the object of All-knowingness like? What is the dominion like? What is the aspect like? What is the nature like? Subhuti, the object of All-knowingness is without entity, the lord is mindfulness, the aspect is peaceful, the nature is without nature. Subhuti, this is the object of All-knowingness. This is the dominion. This is the aspect. This is the nature. This is called the object, lord, and aspect of All-knowingness, and these have explained the unobstructed samadhi. O Bhagavan, is it only All-knowingness that has no entity? Or does form also have no entity? Do feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness also have no entity? Do the twelve sources, the eighteen realms, and the twelve links of dependent origination also have no entity? Do all the perfections, all the emptinesses, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment also have no entity? Do the four noble truths, the meditations, the four immeasurables,
