That is, Subhuti, the Perfection of Wisdom. Because all ordinary child-like beings do not know or see this Dharma-nature, therefore, for the sake of those sentient beings, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Giving, practices the Perfection of Morality, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Meditation, and the Perfection of Wisdom. He practices inner emptiness, he practices up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things. He practices the mindfulnesses, he practices the right abandonments, he practices the miraculous feet, he practices the faculties, he practices the powers, he practices the limbs of enlightenment, he practices the eightfold noble path. He practices the noble truths, he practices the meditations, he practices the immeasurables, he practices the formless absorptions. He practices the eight liberations, he practices the nine successive abidings of absorption, he practices emptiness, he practices signlessness, he practices wishlessness. He practices the superknowledges, he practices the samadhis, he practices the doors of dharani. He practices the ten powers of the Tathagata, he practices the four fearlessnesses, he practices the four analytical knowledges, he practices the eighteen unshared Dharmas of the Buddha, up to the practice of all-knowingness. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices in this way will completely obtain the power and fearlessness of all Dharmas, and will not fall into the grounds of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who trains in this way will transcend the minds, behaviors, and agitations of all sentient beings. This is called the ninth increase. Subhuti, for example, in whatever direction of the great earth the gold sand of the Jambunadi River arises, such (places) are rare. Subhuti, likewise, like this, those sentient beings who train in this training of the Perfection of Wisdom

For example, among sentient beings, those who perfectly take up and abide in the karma of becoming a wheel-turning monarch are very few. Those who perfectly take up and abide in the karma of becoming a king of a small kingdom are extremely numerous. Subhuti, similarly, those sentient beings who enter this path of omniscience are very few. Those sentient beings who will abide in the ground of a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha are even more numerous. Subhuti, furthermore, compared to those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have correctly entered into unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who diligently practice in such a way are extremely rare. Compared to that, those sentient beings who will abide as Hearers or Solitary Buddhas are extremely numerous. Subhuti, furthermore, compared to those sons or daughters of noble family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle who practice this profound Perfection of Wisdom and, without doubt, abide in the ground of non-retrogression, those who will abide in the ground of non-retrogression are extremely numerous. Subhuti, therefore, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who desire to attain the ground of non-retrogression and who desire to be in the ground of non-retrogression should train in this profound Perfection of Wisdom. This is called the eleventh increase. Furthermore, Subhuti, when Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas practice the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not generate a mind of stinginess, they do not generate a mind of bad morality, they do not generate a mind of anger, they do not generate a mind of laziness, they do not generate a mind of distraction, they do not generate a mind of bad wisdom, they do not generate a mind of desire, they do not generate a mind of hatred, they do not generate a mind of delusion, they do not generate a mind of deceit. This is called the twelfth increase. They do not generate a mind associated with form. They do not generate a mind associated with feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. They do not generate a mind associated with the sense bases, the elements, and dependent origination.

A mind associated with laziness does not arise. A mind associated with all the perfections, all emptiness, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment does not arise. A mind associated with the noble truths, meditative concentration, immeasurables, formless absorptions, liberations, successive abidings in meditative concentration, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, extrasensory perception, samadhi, and the gateways of dharani does not arise. A mind associated with the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha does not arise. A mind associated with the path to omniscience does not arise. Why is that? Subhuti, when a bodhisattva mahasattva practices this profound perfection of wisdom, he does not fixate on any dharma. Because he does not fixate, he does not generate a mind toward any dharma. Subhuti, in this way, a bodhisattva mahasattva who trains in this profound perfection of wisdom will completely master all the perfections. All the perfections will be gathered. He will practice in accordance with all the perfections. Why is that? Subhuti, it is because in this profound perfection of wisdom, all the perfections are gathered. This is called the thirteenth increase. Subhuti, for example, all sixty-two forms of clinging to views are gathered in the view of the aggregates. Subhuti, likewise, all the perfections are gathered in this profound perfection of wisdom. Subhuti, for example, when a person dies, the life force ceases, and all the faculties also cease. Subhuti, likewise, when a bodhisattva mahasattva practices this profound perfection of wisdom, all the perfections are gathered together. Subhuti, therefore, a bodhisattva mahasattva who wishes to go beyond all the perfections should...
