How should it be done? Supplication: O Blessed One, if all dharmas are of the nature of non-substantiality, then how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, having generated the first thought, practice the perfection of generosity with what means, purify the Buddha-field, and ripen all sentient beings? How does he practice the perfection of morality, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, the perfection of wisdom, purify the Buddha-field, and ripen all sentient beings? How does he practice the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, the fourth dhyana, purify the Buddha-field, and ripen all sentient beings? How does he practice loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, purify the Buddha-field, and ripen all sentient beings? How does he practice the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, purify the Buddha-field, and ripen all sentient beings? How does he practice between inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, and the emptiness of the nature of non-substantiality, purify the Buddha-field, and ripen all sentient beings? How does he practice mindfulness, perfect abandonment, the basis of miraculous power, faculties, powers, branches of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, purify the Buddha-field, and ripen all sentient beings? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, thus all dharmas are completely familiar with the nature of non-things, making the Buddha-field completely pure, and causing sentient beings to be completely ripened. The Buddha-field is completely pure, and knowing that those sentient beings are also of the nature of non-things, this is the skillful means of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the perfection of generosity and is completely familiar with the path to enlightenment.

practicing until one has not become endowed with the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, great love, great compassion, and the complete knowledge of all aspects, one should become fully familiar with the path to enlightenment. Subhuti, that is the path of a Bodhisattva; abiding in that path, one completely perfects all the perfections. Having perfected the perfections, with the wisdom that possesses a single instant, one will attain the knowledge of all aspects. At that time, all the afflictions that connect the predispositions of that will also be completely abandoned by abandoning them without arising, which is the reversed conceptualization of the nature of the object. Thus, when he looks at the realm of the three thousand great thousand worlds with the eye of a Buddha, if he does not even perceive the absence of things, what need is there to mention seeing the presence of things? Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he completely gives charity. Even though he completely gives charity in this way, he does not conceptualize signs, nor does he think of things as existing or not existing. He also does not conceptualize signs when receiving, nor does he think of things as existing or not existing. He also does not conceptualize signs when giving up, nor does he think of things as existing or not existing. That mind of enlightenment is also not perceived; he does not conceptualize signs, he does not make it an object, and he does not truly see it. When practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, he keeps the precepts, cultivates patience, exerts effort, practices meditation, and cultivates wisdom. Even though he cultivates wisdom in this way, he does not conceptualize signs, nor does he think of things as existing or not existing. He who cultivates that wisdom also does not conceptualize signs, nor does he think of things as existing or not existing. He also does not conceptualize signs for those beings for whose sake he cultivates that wisdom, nor does he think of things as existing or not existing.
