One should not adhere to the meaning of "self." One should not adhere to the meaning that "form" is not "self." Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, one should not adhere to the meaning of "self." One should not adhere to the meaning that "consciousness" is not "self." The twelve sources, the eighteen elements, and dependent origination, one should not adhere to the meaning of "self." One should not adhere to the meaning that "dependent origination" is not "self." All perfections, all emptinesses, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, one should not adhere to the meaning of "self." One should not adhere to the meaning that the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment are not "self." The noble truths, meditation, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine sequential abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samadhi, and the gateways of dharani, one should not adhere to the meaning of "self." One should not adhere to the meaning that "gateways of dharani" are not "self." The ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, one should not adhere to the meaning of "self." One should not adhere to the meaning that the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha are not "self." Until unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, one should not adhere to the meaning of "self." One should not adhere to the meaning that until unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment is not "self." Why is that? Subhuti, because the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, having awakened to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, did not perceive any dharma that needed to be done or not done. Subhuti, furthermore, whether the Tathagatas arise or do not arise, the suchness of dharmas and the abiding of dharma are constant, the realm of dharma is constant. It neither makes anything meaningful nor meaningless. Subhuti, thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should

One should abandon what is meaningful and meaningless and practice the prajñāpāramitā. The question: Blessed One, why is it that the prajñāpāramitā does not do anything meaningful or meaningless to anything? The Blessed One replied: Subhūti, it is like this, the prajñāpāramitā does not do anything to any conditioned or unconditioned dharma, therefore the prajñāpāramitā does not do anything meaningful or meaningless to anything. The question: Blessed One, then is the unconditioned not the entire meaning of all the Buddhas and the noble Śrāvakas of the Buddhas? The Blessed One replied: The unconditioned is indeed the entire meaning of all the Buddhas and the noble Śrāvakas of the Buddhas, but it does not abide near benefit or harm. Subhūti, it is like this, for example, the suchness of space does not abide near any benefit or harm. Subhūti, similarly, the prajñāpāramitā of a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva does not abide near any benefit or harm to any dharma. The question: Blessed One, then does the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva not study the unconditioned prajñāpāramitā and thus attain all-knowingness? The Blessed One replied: Subhūti, it is so, it is so. The Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva studies this profound prajñāpāramitā and thus attains all-knowingness, but not in a dualistic way. The so-called "in a dualistic way" refers to the conceptualization of being completely ignorant of the nature of afflictions. The question: Blessed One, what? Does one attain the non-dual dharma by the non-dual dharma? The Blessed One replied: No. The question: Then does one attain the dual dharma by the dual dharma? The Blessed One replied: No. The question: Then how does one attain it? The Blessed One replied: When one does not perceive either the dual dharma or the non-dual dharma, then one will attain it. Subhūti asked: Blessed One, how
