When practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, if one clings to the object of focus or does not cling to the object of focus, then how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, completely perfect the stages from one stage to another? And after perfecting the stages from one stage to another, how does one attain the state of omniscience? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom does not abide in the object of focus, nor does he perfect the stages from one stage to another. When a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he cannot perfect the stages from one stage to another by abiding in the object of focus. Why is that? Because the Perfection of Wisdom itself has no object of focus, and Bodhi also has no object of focus. Whoever practices the Perfection of Wisdom also has no object of focus. Subhuti, in that case, the statement that a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should practice the Perfection of Wisdom is a form of clinging and conceptualization. He asked: Blessed One, if the Perfection of Wisdom has no object of focus, and whoever practices Bodhi also has no object of focus, then how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, recognize that this is form, this is feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, this is the sense base, the element, and dependent origination, this is the Perfection, this is emptiness, this is the Dharma that leads to Bodhi, this is the Noble Truth, meditation, the immeasurable, and the formless absorption, this is liberation, the absorption of gradual abiding, this is emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, this is clairvoyance, Samadhi, and the doors of Dharani, this is the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and this is unsurpassed, perfect, and complete Bodhi?

It is said that all dharmas should be thoroughly distinguished. The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, how does he make form an object? How does he make feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness objects? How does he make the sense bases, the elements, and dependent origination objects? How does he make all the perfections, all emptinesses, and the dharmas of the path to enlightenment objects? How does he make the noble truths, meditation, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the liberations, the successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samadhi, and the doors of dharani objects? How does he make the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha objects? And how does he make even unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment an object? One should not thus thoroughly distinguish these dharmas, for that is the conceptualization of thoroughly distinguishing dharmas." He asked: "Blessed One, if that is the case, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not make form an object, nor does he make feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness objects, nor does he make even unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment an object. How then does he perfect the Perfection of Generosity, the Perfection of Ethics, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Meditation, and the Perfection of Wisdom, and how does he enter the Bodhisattva path without fault? How does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, having entered without fault, purify the Buddha-field? How, having purified the Buddha-field, does he ripen sentient beings? How does he ripen sent

Having fully matured all sentient beings, one will attain omniscience. Having attained omniscience, one will turn the wheel of Dharma. Having turned the wheel of Dharma, one will accomplish the deeds of the Buddha. Having accomplished the deeds of the Buddha, one will completely liberate sentient beings from samsara. The Bhagavan said: Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should not engage in the Prajnaparamita for the sake of form. Nor should they engage in the Prajnaparamita for the sake of feeling, perception, formations, or consciousness. Nor should they engage in the Prajnaparamita for the sake of the sense bases, the elements, or dependent origination. Nor should they engage in the Prajnaparamita for the sake of all the Paramitas, all emptinesses, or the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment. Nor should they engage in the Prajnaparamita for the sake of the noble truths, meditative stabilizations, immeasurables, formless absorptions, liberations, the successively abiding stabilizations, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, superknowledges, samadhis, or the gateways of dharanis. Nor should they engage in the Prajnaparamita for the sake of the Tathagata's powers, fearlessnesses, analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, or the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha. Nor should they engage in the Prajnaparamita for the sake of unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Asked: Bhagavan, for what reason does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva engage in the Prajnaparamita? The Bhagavan said: For no reason whatsoever should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva engage in the Prajnaparamita. Why is that? Because all dharmas are unmade, unalterable, and unmanifest. The Prajnaparamita is also unmade and unmanifest. Enlightenment is also unmade, unalterable, and unmanifest. Bodhicitta
