Solpa: World Honored One, how should I train in non-attachment? The World Honored One said: Seeing all dharmas as empty of their own nature, one should train in non-attachment. Solpa: World Honored One, how should I train in the emptiness of all dharmas' own nature? The World Honored One said: One should view form as empty of form, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness as empty of consciousness. One should view the sense bases, elements, and dependent origination as empty of dependent origination. One should view all perfections, all emptinesses, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment as empty of the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. One should view the noble truths, meditative stabilizations, immeasurables, formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, supernormal cognitions, samadhi, and the gateways of dharani as empty of the gateways of dharani. One should view the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha as empty of the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. Even up to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, one should view enlightenment as empty of enlightenment. Subhuti, thus, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, one should train in the emptiness of all dharmas' own nature. Solpa: World Honored One, if it is so that form is empty of form, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are empty of consciousness, and even up to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment is empty of enlightenment, then World Honored One, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Prajnaparamita? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, non-practice is the Prajnaparamita of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

They act. Asked: World Honored One, for what reason do you act in the Prajnaparamita without acting? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, in this way, one does not focus on Prajnaparamita, nor does one focus on Bodhisattvas, nor does one focus on actions. One does not focus on what is acted upon, who acts, and where one acts. Subhuti, whatever is acted upon, all of that is not focused upon. That is because the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva has no action, and therefore acts in the Prajnaparamita. Asked: World Honored One, if one acts in the Prajnaparamita by not acting in this way, how should a newly learning Bodhisattva-Mahasattva act in the Prajnaparamita? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, in this way, a newly learning Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, from the very moment of generating the first thought, should learn to have no focus on all dharmas. When giving alms, one should give alms in a way that is without focus. When keeping precepts, one should keep precepts in a way that is without focus. When practicing patience, one should practice patience in a way that is without focus. When exerting effort, one should exert effort in a way that is without focus. When entering into samadhi, one should enter into samadhi in a way that is without focus. When cultivating wisdom, one should cultivate wisdom in a way that is without focus. When meditating on inner emptiness, one should meditate on inner emptiness in a way that is without focus. When meditating on the emptiness of the nature of non-things up to emptiness, one should meditate on the emptiness of the nature of non-things in a way that is without focus. When meditating on the mindfulness, one should meditate on the mindfulness in a way that is without focus. When meditating on the right abandonments, the feet of miracles, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path, one should meditate on the eightfold noble path in a way that is without focus.

The samadhi of the formless, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samadhi, and the gates of dharani, when meditating on these, one should meditate on the gates of dharani in a way that does not fixate on objects. The ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the unmixed qualities of the Buddha, when meditating on these, one should meditate on the unmixed qualities of the Buddha in a way that does not fixate on objects. Up to the meditation on the all-knowingness, one should meditate on the all-knowingness in a way that does not fixate on objects. Asked: Blessed One, by what measure does one fixate on objects? By what measure does one not fixate on objects? The Blessed One said: To the extent that there is duality, to that extent there is fixation. Non-duality is non-fixation. Asked: Blessed One, what is meant by duality? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, to the extent that there is eye and form, up to the extent that there is mind and dharma, and to the extent that there is unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, up to the extent that there is a solitary Buddha, up to the extent that there is a solitary Buddha, Subhuti, these are duality. Subhuti, to the extent that there is no eye and form, up to the extent that there is no unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment and Buddha, this is non-duality. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, is non-fixation itself fixation? Or is non-fixation itself non-fixation? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, non-fixation is neither fixation nor non-fixation. Subhuti, however, non-fixation is the equality of fixation and non-fixation. Subhuti, therefore, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should train in the equality of fixation and non-fixation. Thus, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who train in the Perfection of Wisdom will become those who possess non-fixation, which is a conceptualization that is not emptiness. Asked: Blessed One, if Bodhisattva Mahasattvas thus practice wisdom
