Secondly, having arisen from (meditation), one makes the mind non-abiding. From the non-abiding mind, one enters the first dhyana. Having arisen from the first dhyana, one makes the mind non-abiding. He abides in this transcendent samadhi and attains the equality of all dharmas. Moreover, he dedicates this root of virtue together with all sentient beings to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. When dedicating, he does so without generating the three thoughts of who dedicates, how to dedicate, and to where to dedicate. Subhuti, therefore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in the Prajnaparamita and completely upholds the Dhyana Paramita. This is what is said to be the path of cultivation. The Peak of the Path of Cultivation. Subhuti asked: "Venerable One, should the Bodhisattva Mahasattva learn in many places, and in what should he not learn?" The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, it is so, it is so. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva should learn in many places, but should not learn in any place. Why is that? It is because the dharmas that the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should learn are not perceived." Asked: "Venerable One, since the Tathagata has extensively taught these dharmas in the sutras, then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who wishes to attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment should thoroughly understand these six paramitas extensively in the sutras. After thoroughly understanding them, he should become extremely proficient in words. After becoming extremely proficient in words, he should understand with the mind. And in any case, he should truly understand the non-movement of the mind and mental factors." The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, it is so, it is so.

How does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva seek the essence and extensive explanation of all dharmas? The Blessed One said: If you know the suchness of form, you will know the essence and extensive explanation of all dharmas. If you know the suchness of feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, you will know the essence and extensive explanation of all dharmas. If you know the suchness of the sense bases, elements, and dependent origination, you will know the essence and extensive explanation of all dharmas. If you know the suchness of all perfections, all emptinesses, and the thirty-seven wings of enlightenment, you will know the essence and extensive explanation of all dharmas. If you know the suchness of the noble truths, meditative stabilizations, immeasurables, formless absorptions, liberations, the successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, superknowledges, samadhi, and the doors of dharani, you will know the essence and extensive explanation of all dharmas. If you know the suchness of the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, you will know the essence and extensive explanation of all dharmas. If you know the suchness up to all-knowingness, you will know the essence and extensive explanation of all dharmas. They asked: Blessed One, what is the suchness of form like? The Blessed One said: In suchness, birth is not observed, cessation is not observed, and change from abiding is not observed. This is the suchness of form, and Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas should train in it. They asked: Blessed One, what is the suchness of feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness like? What is the suchness up to all-knowingness like? The Blessed One said: In suchness, birth is not observed, cessation is not observed, and change from abiding is not observed. This is the suchness of feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness.

It is thus. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should train in this. In what suchness, birth is not seen, destruction is not seen, and change from abiding is not seen, this is the suchness between the omniscient ones. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should train in this. If the ultimate reality is known, then the essence and elaboration of all dharmas will be known. Question: Blessed One, what is the ultimate reality? The Blessed One said: The absence of limit is the ultimate reality. The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who trains in this limit will know the essence and elaboration of all dharmas. If the realm of dharma is known, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva will know the essence and elaboration of all dharmas. Question: Blessed One, what is the realm of dharma? The Blessed One said: The absence of a realm of dharma is the realm of dharma. In that realm of dharma, the initial cessation and the complete cessation are not seen. The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who knows the realm of dharma in this way will know the essence and elaboration of all dharmas. Question: Blessed One, how should one seek the essence and elaboration of all dharmas? The Blessed One said: In any case, all dharmas should be known as neither associated nor unassociated. Question: Blessed One, what are those dharmas that are neither associated nor unassociated? The Blessed One said: Form is neither associated nor unassociated.
