He contemplates practicing the perfection of generosity, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on generosity. He contemplates practicing the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on the perfection of wisdom. He contemplates practicing inner emptiness, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on inner emptiness. He contemplates practicing the emptiness of the nature of non-things, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on the emptiness of the nature of non-things. He contemplates practicing the mindfulnesses, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on the mindfulnesses. He contemplates practicing the right abandonments, the legs of magical power, the faculties, the powers, the branches of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on the eightfold noble path. He contemplates practicing the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samadhi, and the gateways of dharani, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on the gateways of dharani. He contemplates practicing the ten powers of the Tathagata, the fearlessnesses, the individual perfect knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddhas, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddhas. He contemplates practicing all-knowingness, and he contemplates in such a way that he does not fixate on all-knowingness. Thus, he contemplates the bodhisattva mahasattva who does not fixate. Furthermore, Subhuti, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are bodhisattvas.

Ah, the great Bodhisattva does not contemplate form. He does not contemplate feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. He does not contemplate the sense bases, elements, and dependent origination. He does not contemplate the perfection of generosity. He does not contemplate the perfection of morality, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom. He does not contemplate inner emptiness. He does not contemplate outer emptiness. He does not contemplate the emptiness of the nature of non-things. He does not contemplate the mindfulness, the right abandonments, the legs of magical power, the faculties, the powers, the branches of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path. He does not contemplate the noble truths, meditation, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, liberation, the successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samadhi, and the doors of dharani. He does not contemplate the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the unmixed qualities of the Buddha. He does not contemplate all-knowingness. This is said to be the conceptualization that focuses on the doctrines of opponents. These are the nine aspects of the two kinds of grasping conceptualizations that have been taught. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, this Prajnaparamita is profound. Blessed One, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who seek to fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, they are practicing what is difficult. Why is that? Blessed One, there is nothing called abiding in suchness. There is also nothing to fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. There is also nothing that teaches the Dharma. Even so, they are not discouraged.

In order not to change and not become dull or foolish. Then, the Venerable Subhuti said to Indra, the lord of the gods, as follows: "Kauśika, you said, 'World Honored One, it is difficult for Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas not to become dull or foolish with regard to these profound Dharmas.' Kauśika, if all Dharmas are emptiness, then who would become dull or foolish with regard to it?" Indra said: "Venerable Subhuti, whatever you teach, all of that is taught based on emptiness, and there is no attachment to anything. For example, an arrow shot into the sky has no attachment to anything. Similarly, the Dharma taught by Venerable Subhuti has no attachment to anything." Then, Indra, the lord of the gods, said to the World Honored One as follows: "World Honored One, what is it? When I say this, when I speak in this way, is it that by speaking in accordance with what the World Honored One has said, by recollecting the Dharma, and by diligently pursuing the Dharma, the Dharma nature is correctly prophesied and becomes a prophecy?" The World Honored One said: "Kauśika, when you speak in this way, by speaking in accordance with what the Tathagata has said, by speaking in accordance with the Dharma, and by diligently pursuing the Dharma, the Dharma nature will become a prophecy." Indra said: "World Honored One, whatever the Venerable Subhuti proclaims, all of that is proclaimed based on emptiness. It is proclaimed based on the absence of characteristics. It is proclaimed based on the absence of aspirations. It is proclaimed based on the perfection of generosity. It is proclaimed based on the perfection of morality, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom. It is proclaimed based on inner emptiness. It is proclaimed based on the emptiness of the nature of non-things. It is proclaimed based on the mindfulness. It is proclaimed based on the right abandonments, and the feet of magical power.
