It abides closely for the sake of great meaning for the great Bodhisattvas. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is so, it is so. The Prajnaparamita shows the path and the non-path, therefore it abides closely for the sake of great meaning for the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. The Prajnaparamita abides closely for the sake of immeasurable meaning for the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. The Prajnaparamita abides closely for the sake of countless meanings for the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. Although the Prajnaparamita speaks of that meaning, it does not completely grasp form. It does not completely grasp feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. It does not abide closely for the sake of completely grasping the state of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas until it changes. This Prajnaparamita does not cause the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva to attain the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. It does not abandon the state of the Hearers and the state of the Solitary Buddhas. It does not unite with the All-Knowingness. Thus, if the nature of Dharma itself is taken as the measure, then this Prajnaparamita neither generates any Dharma nor ceases any Dharma. He asked: Blessed One, if this Prajnaparamita neither generates any Dharma nor ceases any Dharma, then Blessed One, how does the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, practicing the Prajnaparamita, completely give alms? How does he keep the precepts? How does he cultivate patience? How does he exert effort? How does he enter into meditation? How does he cultivate wisdom? The Blessed One said: One should give alms by focusing on the All-Knowingness. One should keep the precepts by focusing on the All-Knowingness. One should cultivate patience by focusing on the All-Knowingness. One should exert effort by focusing on the All-Knowingness. One should enter into meditation by focusing on the All-Knowingness.

One should cultivate wisdom by aiming at the attainment of omniscience. By this, those roots of virtue are also made common with all sentient beings and completely dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. One should dedicate in such a way that one does not think, "Who is the one who dedicates, what is the object of dedication, and where is it dedicated?" Thus, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva completely dedicates those roots of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, then from the complete cultivation of the six perfections to the complete cultivation of loving-kindness, up to the attainment of omniscience, the cultivation will be complete. A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who is not separated from the six perfections is not separated from omniscience. Therefore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who wishes to manifestly realize the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment should practice the six perfections. A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices the six perfections will perfect all roots of virtue and will eventually attain omniscience. Subhuti, therefore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should diligently cultivate the six perfections, which is the discrimination of arising and ceasing. Request: Blessed One, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva diligently practice the six perfections? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is neither with form nor without form; neither with feeling, perception, formation, nor without consciousness; neither with sense bases, elements, dependent origination, nor without sense bases, elements, dependent origination; neither with all the perfections nor without all the perfections; neither with all the emptinesses nor without all the emptinesses; neither with the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment nor without the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment; neither with the noble truths nor with thought.

Dhyana, immeasurables, formless attainments, eight liberations, successive abidings' attainments, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, supernormal knowledges, samadhi, dharani gates, ten powers, four fearlessnesses, four analytical knowledges, Buddha's unshared qualities, etc., it is also not the case that they are possessed, and it is also not the case that they are not possessed. Even up to the state of all-knowingness, it is also not the case that they are possessed, and it is also not the case that they are not possessed. One should thoroughly examine in this way. Subhuti, thus a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should diligently strive in the six perfections. This is the discrimination of possessing and not possessing. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should not diligently strive to abide in form. One should not diligently strive to abide in feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. One should not diligently strive to abide in the sense bases, elements, and dependent origination. One should not diligently strive to abide in all the perfections, all emptinesses, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. One should not diligently strive to abide in the noble truths, meditative stabilizations, immeasurables, formless attainments, liberations, successive abidings' attainments, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, supernormal knowledges, samadhi, and dharani gates. One should not diligently strive to abide in the ten powers, four fearlessnesses, four analytical knowledges, and Buddha's unshared qualities. One should not diligently strive to abide even up to the state of all-knowingness. Why is that? Because form does not abide in anything at all. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness do not abide in anything at all. The sense bases, elements, and dependent origination do not abide in anything at all. All the perfections, all emptinesses, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment do not abide in anything at all.
