Many have passed away. World Honored One, the sentient beings of Jambudvipa are also numerous, let alone the sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand worlds. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, if all the sentient beings in the three thousand great thousand worlds, however many there may be, were to obtain human bodies without any precedence, and were to attain complete and perfect enlightenment to become Buddhas, and if Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas were to continuously attend to each of those Tathagatas until the end of their lives with robes, alms, bedding, medicinal supplies, and many provisions, what do you think, Subhuti? Would that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva increase a great amount of merit through that? He replied: World Honored One, yes, a great amount. Sugata, a great amount. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, even more so, whether it be a son or daughter of good family, if they hold, recite, comprehend, properly contemplate, and diligently practice this profound Perfection of Wisdom, their merit will increase even more. Why is that? Subhuti, the Perfection of Wisdom of Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas is of such great significance, as it enables the attainment of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Subhuti, therefore, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva wishes to become the unsurpassed one for all sentient beings, wishes to become the protector of beings without protection, wishes to become the refuge of beings without refuge, wishes to become the friend of beings without friends, wishes to become the savior of beings without saviors, wishes to become the abode of beings without abode, wishes to become the island of beings without islands, wishes to become the lamp for beings dwelling in darkness, wishes to attain Buddhahood, wishes to comprehend the realm of the Buddhas, and wishes to play freely with the conduct of the Buddhas

I, wishing to proclaim the lion's roar of the Buddha, wishing to beat the drum of the Buddha, wishing to blow the conch of the Buddha, wishing to speak the words of the Buddha, therefore, one should train in this profound Prajnaparamita. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who trains in this profound Prajnaparamita, there is nothing among those perfections that should be attained that he does not attain. Subhuti asked: World-Honored-One, is it also that he can attain the perfection of the Hearers? Is it also that he can attain the perfection of the Solitary Buddhas? The World-Honored-One said: Subhuti, he can attain the perfection of the Hearers, and he can attain the perfection of the Solitary Buddhas. But he should not abide in it, he should not dwell in it, he should observe them with knowledge and vision and transcend them, and the Bodhisattva should enter without obstruction. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who trains in this way is close to the All-Knowingness, and will realize the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who trains in this way will become an object of offering in the world with gods, humans, and asuras. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who trains in this way will overwhelm and surpass all those Hearers and Solitary Buddhas who are not objects of offering. He is also close to the All-Knowingness. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who trains in this way does not abandon Prajnaparamita, practices Prajnaparamita, and is not separated from Prajnaparamita. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices this profound Prajnaparamita in this way should be known to have the nature of not regressing from the All-Knowingness, distancing himself from the Hearer's stage and the Solitary Buddha's stage, and approaching the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment.
