Then, in the ultimate sense, this realm is inexpressible. World Honored One, if in the ultimate sense, the realm is inexpressible, then how can the object of the characteristic of formation, which is called form, be suddenly given a name? How can the object of the characteristic of formation, which is called feeling, conception, formations, consciousness, and even the Buddhadharma, be suddenly given a name? If it does not exist in the ultimate sense, then how can it become an inexpressible realm? The object of the characteristic of formation cannot be called the inexpressible realm. The World Honored One said: Maitreya, therefore, you ask me, and receive the answer as you can bear it. Maitreya, what do you think? When wisdom enters the inexpressible realm, do you see the object of the characteristic of formation, called form, called feeling, called conception, called formations, called consciousness, and even the Buddhadharma, which are suddenly given names? World Honored One, I do not see it. The Buddha said: Maitreya, in this way, it should be understood that what is the object of the characteristic of formation is not the inexpressible realm, and there is no other inexpressible realm other than the object of the characteristic of formation. Maitreya, if the object of the characteristic of formation, called form, called feeling, called conception, called formations, called consciousness, and even the Buddhadharma, which are suddenly given names, if these are indeed the inexpressible realm, then all ordinary people will also be completely liberated from suffering, and will also attain the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Maitreya, if there is indeed another inexpressible realm other than the object of the characteristic of formation, then if that characteristic is also invisible, how can that inexpressible realm be realized?

Ram. Maitreya, in this way also, the characteristic of formations is not another realm beyond the unspeakable. Whatever is called form, called feeling, called perception, called formations, called consciousness, and even called the dharmas of the Buddhas, these are all temporarily established names, and it should be known that this is not another realm beyond the unspeakable. Maitreya Bodhisattva asked: World Honored One, if a Bodhisattva, being connected with the unspeakable realm, abides in the sphere of wisdom, then for the object of the characteristic of formations, whatever is called form, called feeling, called perception, called formations, called consciousness, and even called the dharmas of the Buddhas, these are all temporarily established names, if they are not perceived, World Honored One, is it that existence is not perceived, or is it that non-existence is not perceived? After asking this, the World Honored One said to Maitreya Bodhisattva: Maitreya, the object of the characteristic of formations is neither existent nor non-existent. Why is that? Maitreya, when you are discriminating the object of the characteristic of formations, will the object of the characteristic of formations be grasped by those who have realized it? When, being connected with the unspeakable realm, you abide in the sphere of wisdom and do not discriminate, will it be grasped as non-discrimination? World Honored One, that is so. The World Honored One said: Maitreya, if that is so, then like this, the object of the characteristic of formations, whatever is called form, called feeling, called perception, called formations, called consciousness, and even called the dharmas of the Buddhas, these are all temporarily established names, is that merely discrimination? It is merely discrimination. Thus, abiding in the realm of non-discrimination, when connected with discriminations, it is called form, called feeling, called perception, called formations, called consciousness,

And, those called Buddha's teachings, wherever they are suddenly named, whatever exists there will become the object. Maitreya asked the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, how many kinds of investigations should a Bodhisattva who practices Prajnaparamita, is skilled in the differentiation of dharmas, and has entered the path, understand regarding the differentiation of form? How many kinds of investigations should one understand regarding the differentiation of feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, and even the Buddha's teachings? The Bhagavan said: Maitreya, a Bodhisattva who practices Prajnaparamita, is skilled in the differentiation of dharmas, and has entered the path, should understand that there are three kinds of investigations regarding the differentiation of form. One should understand that there are three kinds of investigations regarding the differentiation of feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, and even the Buddha's teachings, namely: These are the forms that are completely conceptualized. These are the forms that are conceptually apprehended. These are the forms of suchness. For example: These are the feelings that are completely conceptualized. This is the feeling that is conceptually apprehended. This is the feeling of suchness. For example: This is the perception that is completely conceptualized. This is the perception that is conceptually apprehended. This is the perception of suchness. For example: These are the volitions that are completely conceptualized. These are the volitions that are conceptually apprehended. These are the volitions of suchness. For example: This is the consciousness that is completely conceptualized. This is the consciousness that is conceptually apprehended. This is the consciousness of suchness. For example: These are the Buddha's teachings that are completely conceptualized. These are the Buddha's teachings that are conceptually apprehended. These are the Buddha's teachings of suchness. Maitreya asked: Bhagavan, what is the form that is completely conceptualized? What is the form that is conceptually apprehended? What is the form of suchness? Bhagavan, what are the feeling and perception that are completely conceptualized?
