How should one be taught about desire, anger, pride, ignorance, views, and doubt? How should one be taught about stinginess, generosity, immoral conduct, discipline, harmful thoughts, patience, laziness, diligence, distraction, meditation, immoral wisdom, and wisdom? How should one be taught about conceptualization, emptiness, signs, absence of signs, wrong aspirations, absence of aspirations, and the laws of the lovely and unlovely? How should one be taught about afflictions, abandonment of afflictions, complete afflictions, purification, samsara and nirvana, and the Buddha's teachings? After praying thus, the Bhagavan spoke to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya as follows: Maitreya, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who wishes to practice the perfection of wisdom should learn that form is only a name.
