No. Subhuti asked: If all dharmas are empty of their own characteristics, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, and completely liberate beings from the cycle of the five realms? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, in this case, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva awakens to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, and teaches beings about suffering, the arising of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the path leading to the cessation of suffering. Explains, establishes, places, writes, interprets, distinguishes, clarifies, and speaks correctly. In these four noble truths, all virtuous dharmas, all aspects of enlightenment, and all things that distinguish the Three Jewels are completely included. Because the Three Jewels of the Buddha Jewel, the Dharma Jewel, and the Sangha Jewel appear in the world, beings are completely liberated from the path of the cycle of the five realms. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, is it through knowing suffering that one completely attains nirvana from suffering? Or is it through suffering that one completely attains nirvana? Is it through knowing the origin that one completely attains nirvana? Or is it through the origin that one attains nirvana? Is it through knowing the cessation of suffering that one completely attains nirvana? Or is it through the cessation of suffering that one completely attains nirvana? Is it through knowing the path that one completely attains nirvana? Or is it through the path that one completely attains nirvana? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, one does not completely attain nirvana through knowing suffering, nor through suffering. One does not completely attain nirvana through knowing the origin, nor through the origin. One does not completely attain nirvana through knowing the cessation of suffering, nor through the cessation of suffering. One does not completely attain nirvana through knowing the path, nor through the path. Subhuti, what I have said about nirvana is the equality of these four noble truths. One does not completely attain nirvana through knowing suffering.

Nor is it suffering. Knowing the origin does not completely liberate from suffering. Nor is it the origin. Knowing the cessation of suffering does not completely liberate from suffering. Nor is it the cessation of suffering. Knowing the path does not completely liberate from suffering. Nor is it the path. Please tell me, Blessed One, what is the equality of the four noble truths, where there is neither suffering nor seeking suffering; neither origin nor seeking origin; neither cessation nor seeking cessation; neither path nor seeking path? The Blessed One said: That is the suchness of those four noble truths, the non-erroneous suchness, the non-other suchness, the nature of dharma, the realm of dharma, the abiding nature of dharma, the faultless nature of dharma, the ultimate reality. Whether the Tathagatas appear or not, that realm remains as it is, the realm of dharma remains without increasing or decreasing. Therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, they practice in order to realize the truth as it is. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Prajnaparamita in order to practice for the sake of realizing the truth? How should they practice to realize, seek, and understand the truth, without falling into the level of a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha, and enter without any faults of a Bodhisattva? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, they should see in such a way that there is no object of focus whatsoever in those dharmas. Because all dharmas are without focus, they see all dharmas as empty, whether they realize the truth or do not realize the truth. Seeing in this way, they can understand without fault, and such a Bodhisattva Mahasattva will abide in the lineage ground. What will cause a Bodhisattva who abides in the lineage ground to fall into the level of a Hearer?

Or the ground of the earth, one will fall into the ground of the solitary realizer, and will not fall into the downfall of the head. That kind of Bodhisattva abides in that ground and cultivates the four dhyanas. He cultivates the four immeasurables and the four formless absorptions. He abides in that ground of higher seeing and completely knows all dharmas. He comprehends the four noble truths. Even though he completely knows suffering, he does not generate a mind focused on suffering. Even though he completely abandons the origin, he does not generate a mind focused on the origin. Even though he realizes cessation, he does not generate a mind focused on cessation. Even though he cultivates the path, he does not generate a mind focused on the path. Otherwise, with a mind inclined towards enlightenment, he sees all dharmas correctly as they are. He asked: Blessed One, what is meant by "the correct reality of all dharmas"? The Blessed One replied: It is emptiness. He asked: What is emptiness? The Blessed One replied: It is emptiness of self-nature. With such higher seeing, one should view all dharmas as empty. Abiding in what kind of self-nature, one realizes complete enlightenment and becomes a Buddha, in that kind of self-nature, one does not see any dharma as having self-nature. Non-thingness is enlightenment, that is not made by the Buddha, not made by the solitary realizer, not made by the Arhat, the Non-returner, the Once-returner, the Stream-enterer, and not made by those who have entered those fruits. Those Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who practice this enlightenment have not made it either. Otherwise, sentient beings have not known or seen reality as it is, therefore Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas practice the Prajnaparamita and skillfully teach the Dharma to sentient beings, this is called the joyful activity of seeing the truth. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya asked the Blessed One: Blessed One, if all dharmas are the self-nature of non-things, then Blessed One, at that time the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices the Prajnaparamita
