He teaches the Dharma in the midst of conversation. He possesses extremely pure knowledge of the distinctions of mind, and with this knowledge of the distinctions of mind, he understands the minds of sentient beings and teaches them the Dharma accordingly, speaking of generosity, or of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, or wisdom, or of the noble truths, or of dependent arising. He remembers many forms of his own or others' past lives, and with the knowledge of remembering past lives, he also knows that in the past there were tathāgatas, arhats, perfectly awakened buddhas with such and such names, along with their communities of śrāvakas. To the extent that sentient beings are inclined to remember their past lives, he teaches them the Dharma in accordance with reality, speaking of generosity, or of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, or wisdom, or of the noble truths, or of dependent arising. Through his miraculous power, he goes to the ten directions, to realms as numerous as the grains of sand in the Ganges River, and serves the buddhas, the blessed ones. Having served them, he teaches the Dharma to sentient beings with the wisdom of clairvoyance, speaking of generosity, or of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, or wisdom, or of the noble truths, or of dependent arising. He possesses the knowledge to realize the uncontaminated, which is extremely pure. With this extremely sharp knowledge to realize the uncontaminated, he teaches the Dharma to sentient beings, speaking of generosity, or of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, or wisdom, or of the noble truths, or of dependent arising. Subhūti, in this way, when a bodhisattva mahāsattva practices the perfection of wisdom, he accomplishes clairvoyance. And with these highly familiar clairvoyances, he takes on whatever kind of body he wishes to take on, and he takes on the body according to his desire.

for the sake of sentient beings, and will not be tainted by happiness or suffering. Subhuti, for example, a manifestation of the Tathagata performs all necessary tasks, but is not tainted by happiness or suffering. Similarly, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom, plays with superknowledge, and teaches the Dharma as desired in worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River in the ten directions, but will not be robbed by happiness or suffering. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he should play with superknowledge in such a way that the Buddha-fields will be purified and sentient beings will be matured; he should play in this way. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva cannot realize unexcelled, perfect enlightenment without purifying the Buddha-fields and maturing sentient beings. Subhuti, why is that? Because a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who does not possess the limbs of the path does not have unexcelled, perfect enlightenment. Approaching the Buddhas, serving and honoring them, and so forth, are activities that increase joy. Subhuti asked: "Bhagavan, what are the limbs of the path by which a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, having perfected the limbs of the path, will proceed to realize unexcelled, perfect enlightenment?" The Bhagavan said: "Subhuti, all virtuous dharmas are the limbs of the path of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva." He asked: "Bhagavan, what are those virtuous dharmas that are the limbs of the path by which one will realize unexcelled, perfect enlightenment?" Seventy-third Section The Bhagavan said: "From the moment of first generating the mind, taking up virtuous dharmas, even when practicing the Perfection of Giving,
