The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, does the Tathagata manifest an emanation of a being belonging to the realm of animals, and having manifested that, does he perform the deeds of a Buddha? Is there such a thing?" Subhuti replied: "Blessed One, there is not." The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, does the Tathagata become a place of birth for animals?" Subhuti replied: "Blessed One, that is not so." The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, does the Tathagata experience the suffering of an animal's birth?" Subhuti replied: "Blessed One, that is not so." The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, in the same way, a Bodhisattva, a great being, who possesses the noble, undefiled Dharma, deliberately contemplates and fully embraces such a body. With those bodies, he fully matures sentient beings in whatever way is appropriate. Subhuti, what do you think? If an Arhat manifests an emanation, does that emanation perform the deeds of an Arhat, and does that deed cause the roots of virtue of others to grow?" Subhuti replied: "Blessed One, it is indeed so." The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, in the same way, a Bodhisattva, a great being, who possesses the noble, undefiled Dharma, deliberately contemplates and fully embraces such a body, and in whatever way is appropriate, he fully matures sentient beings. Such a body does not become suffering, nor does he experience the feeling of suffering. Subhuti, what do you think? Does a magician show from magic the form of an elephant, or the form of a horse, or the form of an ox? Or does he show various kinds of magic? Do those become the form of an elephant, or the form of a horse, or the form of an ox, or other kinds of living beings?" Subhuti replied: "Blessed One, that is not so." The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, in the same way, a Bodhisattva, a great being, who possesses the noble, undefiled Dharma, deliberately contemplates and fully embraces such a body. With those bodies, he does the benefit of sentient beings, and there is nothing that becomes a feeling of suffering. Subhuti,"

Requested: O Blessed One, thus the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, possessing the undefiled noble wisdom, whatever body transforms for the benefit of sentient beings, thus holding that body is a very skillful means, it is very rare, it is the activity of definitely establishing perfect enlightenment. O Blessed One, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, abiding in what white Dharma, performs such skillful means, yet practices without being stained by that karma? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, abiding in the Prajnaparamita, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices such skillful means. Those skillful means, in each of the ten directions, in worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, benefit sentient beings, yet they do not touch anything there. Why is that? Thus, whatever the Bodhisattva Mahasattva touches, and with what touches, and what is to be touched, thus those three dharmas are all unobtainable. Why is that? Thus, those three dharmas are all empty by their very nature, so emptiness does not touch emptiness. Emptiness does not touch any dharma. Emptiness is also not something to be touched. Why is that? Thus, in emptiness, emptiness is unobtainable. That unobtainable is emptiness, abiding in that, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva manifestly and perfectly awakens to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Requested: O Blessed One, why is it that the Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not abide in other dharmas, but only abides in the Prajnaparamita, and practices such skillful means? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, is there any dharma that is not included in the Prajnaparamita? Requested: O Blessed One, if the Prajnaparamita is empty by its very nature, how are all dharmas included in the Prajnaparamita?

The unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, also arises from this very Perfection of Wisdom. Ananda, therefore, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who desire to manifestly realize unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and who desire to train in the six perfections, should train in this profound Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Ananda, it is like this: the Perfection of Wisdom is the mother of Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, causing them to be born. Ananda, whatever Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas train in the six perfections, all of them will arise in unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Ananda, therefore, I repeatedly entrust these six perfections to you, I entrust them to you. Why is that? Ananda, this is the inexhaustible treasury of Dharma of the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly and completely enlightened Buddhas, namely, the treasury of the Perfection of Wisdom. Ananda, in the immeasurable, countless, and inconceivable realms of the ten directions, whatever Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly and completely enlightened Buddhas reside and live, and those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who teach the Dharma, they also teach the Dharma from this treasury of the six perfections. Ananda, whatever Buddhas, the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly and completely enlightened Buddhas of the past, arose, they also trained in this very Perfection of Wisdom, manifestly realized unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and taught the Dharma. Ananda, whatever Buddhas, the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly and completely enlightened Buddhas of the future, will arise, they also will train in this very Perfection of Wisdom, and will manifestly realize unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and will also teach the Dharma. Ananda, the two... of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past, future, and present...
