The sense bases, the elements, and dependent origination are empty of inherent existence. The Prajnaparamita, the outsiders, all emptinesses, and the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment are empty of inherent existence. The noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the liberations, the successively abiding absorptions, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samadhis, and the doors of dharani are empty of inherent existence. The powers of the Thus-gone One, the fearlessnesses, the individual perfect knowledges, great love, great compassion, great joy, great equanimity, and the unmixed dharmas of the Buddhas are empty of inherent existence. The thirty-two marks of a great being and the eighty minor marks are empty of inherent existence. The fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, the state of an Arhat, and self-enlightenment are empty of inherent existence. Up to the all-knowingness, it is empty of inherent existence. Therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he teaches that the five aggregates are empty of inherent existence. He teaches that the twelve sense bases are empty of inherent existence. He teaches that the eighteen elements are empty of inherent existence. He teaches that dependent origination is empty of inherent existence. He teaches that all the Perfections are empty of inherent existence. He teaches that all the emptinesses are empty of inherent existence. He teaches that the four mindfulnesses, the four perfect abandonments, the four legs of miraculous power, the five faculties, the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path are empty of inherent existence. He teaches that the four noble truths, the four meditations, the four immeasurables, and the formless absorptions are

The four mindfulnesses, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings, and the doors to liberation—emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the five superknowledges, all samādhis, and all dhāraṇī doors—are taught as being empty of inherent existence. The ten powers of the Tathāgata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great loving-kindness, great compassion, great joy, and great equanimity are taught as being empty of inherent existence. The eighteen unshared qualities of a buddha are taught as being empty of inherent existence. The thirty-two marks of a great being and the eighty minor marks are taught as being empty of inherent existence. The fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, arhatship, and solitary enlightenment are taught as being empty of inherent existence. Omniscience and the abandonment of all afflictions associated with habitual tendencies are taught as being empty of inherent existence. Subhūti, if the emptiness of internal phenomena were not empty of inherent existence, then bodhisattvas mahāsattvas would not teach that all phenomena are empty of inherent existence. If the emptiness of external phenomena, the emptiness of internal phenomena, the emptiness of both internal and external phenomena, the emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned emptiness, unconditioned emptiness, emptiness beyond extremes, emptiness without beginning or end, emptiness without rejection, emptiness of inherent existence, the emptiness of all phenomena, emptiness of self-characterized phenomena, emptiness of the unobtainable, emptiness of non-entities, emptiness of essential nature, and the emptiness of the essential nature of non-entities were not empty of inherent existence, then bodhisattvas mahāsattvas would not teach that all phenomena are empty of inherent existence. Therefore, even the emptiness of inherent existence

If it is not destroyed, the emptiness of self-nature will not be destroyed, it will not be permanent, and it will not go without a later destination. Why is that? Because it does not dwell in a place, it does not dwell in a direction, it does not come from anywhere, and it does not go anywhere. That is the nature of the abiding of the Dharma. There, no increase of any Dharma is seen, no decrease is seen, no decrease, no arising, no appearing, no ceasing, no complete defilement, and no complete purification are seen. That is the self-nature of all Dharmas. Abiding there, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas correctly enter into the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. For any Dharma, entering or not entering is not seen. All Dharmas have no entering and no abiding. That is the Dharma-nature abiding of all Dharmas. Therefore, when Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas practice the Perfection of Wisdom, seeing that all Dharmas are empty of self-nature, they will not turn back from the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Why is that? Because in this way, they do not truly see any obscured Dharma, but truly see that all Dharmas are without obscuration. Because in this way, in the emptiness of self-nature, I am not seen, and the imputed I is not seen. Sentient beings, life, going, nurturing, persons, individuals, powerful ones, lords of power, doers, receivers, feelers, arisers, complete arisers, knowers, and seers are also not seen, and the imputed seer is also not seen. Form is also not seen, and the imputed form is also not seen. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are also not seen, and the imputed consciousness is also not seen. The thirty-two marks of a great person and the eighty minor marks are also not seen, and the imputed eighty minor marks are also not seen. How much less will there be doubt about the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? This is called the activity of establishing in the emptiness of self-nature. Subhuti, for example, an emanation of the Tathagata, a Bhikshu or
