Thus, Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas train in the recollection of the Sangha, and through the nature of non-thingness, they fully accomplish all-knowingness. They will manifestly and perfectly awaken to all dharmas in the nature of non-thingness. In them, there is no thought of things existing, nor is there a thought of things not existing. What need is there to mention even a particle of the activity of recollection, or being separated from recollection? This is called the recollection of the Sangha. Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva cultivate the recollection of morality? Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, when cultivating the recollection of morality, they abide in morality that is not damaged, without faults, not mixed, without defilement, without attachment, possessing mastery, praised by the wise, utterly complete, and accomplishing samadhi. They contemplate that morality in the nature of non-thingness. Why is that? Because it is like this: in them, there is no self-nature. Those without self-nature are non-things. Because of non-things, one cannot recollect non-things. Why is that? Because it is like this: without recollection and without contemplation is the recollection of morality. Subhuti, thus, Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas train in the recollection of morality, and through the nature of non-thingness, they fully accomplish all-knowingness. They will manifestly and perfectly awaken to all dharmas in the nature of non-thingness. In them, there is no thought of things existing, nor is there a thought of things not existing.

When practicing Prajnaparamita, one should cultivate the recollection of giving, recollecting giving in the manner of non-substantiality. One should not think of giving anything mixed or giving the Dharma. If one completely gives away limbs and close limbs, what need is there to mention other things? Even when giving completely in this way, one should not think, "I am the one who gives completely, this is what I have given, and I will give to this." Why is that? Because those non-substantial things have no inherent nature. Whatever has no inherent nature is non-substantial. Non-substantiality cannot recollect non-substantiality. Why is that? Because not having recollection and not having attention is the recollection of giving. Subhuti, in this way, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should train in the recollection of giving, and in the manner of non-substantiality, he will completely perfect it up to the attainment of all-knowingness. Then, all Dharmas will become manifestly and completely enlightened in the nature of non-substantiality. If there is no concept of substantiality or non-substantiality, what need is there to mention even a particle of the karma of recollection, or being separated from recollection? This is called the recollection of giving. Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva recollect the deities when practicing Prajnaparamita? Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva cultivates the recollection of deities, he recollects the deities of the retinue of the Four Great Kings, the deities of the Thirty-three, the deities of Yama, Tushita, Nirmāṇarati, and Paranirmita-vaśavartin, and those deities who have entered the stream of the path of the gods. And those deities who abide in the Form Realm and the Formless Realm, the deities who do not come for rebirth, all these are contemplated in the manner of non-substantiality. Why is that? Because they have no inherent nature. Whatever has no inherent nature is non-substantial. Non-substantiality cannot recollect non-substantiality. Why is that? Because this is

Absence of memory and absence of mental activity is recollection of the deity. Subhuti, thus a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should train in the recollection of the deity and perfect it up to the attainment of all-knowingness. He will become fully enlightened in the essence of all dharmas, which is the absence of things. If he has no perception of things as existing, nor a perception of things as non-existing, what need is there to mention even a trace of the activity of memory or being separated from memory? This is called recollection of the deity. Subhuti, thus a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva establishes the gradual activity of engaging in the six recollections. He well establishes the gradual learning and the gradual practice, but all of that is without an object of focus. Why is that? Because, like this, it is without inherent existence. This is called the six recollections. Seventh, the chapter called "Perfection of Learning" based on realization in a single moment. Subhuti, furthermore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who desires to perfect the gradual activity of engaging in the Prajnaparamita, and who desires to perfect the gradual learning and the gradual practice, should, from the arising of the initial thought of enlightenment, closely take hold, with the mental activity endowed with all-knowingness, and in the manner of the essence of the absence of things, train in inner emptiness. He should train in outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, and up to the emptiness of the essence of the absence of things. He should train in the mindfulnesses. He should train in the right abandonments, the supports of miraculous power, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, and the path. He should train in the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings in meditative absorption, the meditative stabilizations, and the doors of dharani. He should train in emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness meditative stabilization, and the essence of the absence of things.
