not be frightened or terrified. They will not be overcome by fear, nor will they shrink back or be completely daunted. Their minds will not turn away, and they will not regress. Even after hearing it, they will hold onto it more and more, embrace it, recite it, fully understand it, properly contemplate it, and practice it accordingly. This is called the nature of non-attachment. Subhuti asked: "Bhagavan, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva teaches this profound Prajnaparamita, they are not frightened or terrified. They are not overcome by fear, nor do they shrink back or are completely daunted. Their minds do not turn away. How, then, Bhagavan, should that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva contemplate this profound Prajnaparamita?" The Bhagavan replied: "Subhuti, that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should contemplate this profound Prajnaparamita with a mind that is inclined towards the All-Knowingness." Subhuti asked: "Bhagavan, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva contemplate this profound Prajnaparamita with a mind that is inclined towards the All-Knowingness?" The Bhagavan replied: "Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva contemplates this profound Prajnaparamita with a mind that is inclined towards emptiness, abides in emptiness, and has the power of emptiness. Subhuti, with a mind that is inclined towards signlessness, abides in signlessness, and has the power of signlessness; Subhuti, with a mind that is inclined towards wishlessness, abides in wishlessness, and has the power of wishlessness; Subhuti, with a mind that is inclined towards space, abides in space, and has the power of space; Subhuti, with a mind that is inclined towards the limit of reality, abides in the limit of reality, and has the power of the limit of reality; Subhuti, with a mind that is inclined towards non-fabrication, abides in non-fabrication, and has the power of non-fabrication, one contemplates this profound Prajnaparamita. Furthermore, with the thought of being attached to dreams, the thought of being attached to illusions, the thought of being attached to magic, the thought of being attached to mirages, the thought of being attached to echoes, the thought of being attached to dizziness, the thought of being attached to reflections, and the thought of being attached to Gandharva cities, one generates conceptualization about this profound Perfection of Wisdom. Chapter 48. Subhuti said to the Buddha: "World Honored One, in this way, by being attached to emptiness, approaching emptiness, and with the thought of emptiness as power, Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas can generate conceptualization about this profound Perfection of Wisdom, and likewise, about the absence of characteristics, the absence of wishes, space, the absence of birth, the absence of cessation, the absence of defilement, the absence of purification, suchness, the realm of reality, the nature of the abiding of reality, the nature of the infallibility of reality, the inconceivable, the ultimate reality, the absence of manifestation, dreams, illusions, magic, mirages, echoes, dizziness, reflections, and Gandharva cities, by being attached, by approaching, and with the thought of power, one can generate conceptualization about this profound Perfection of Wisdom. World Honored One, do Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas also generate conceptualization about form? Do they generate conceptualization about feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness? Likewise, do they generate conceptualization about the aggregates, elements, sense bases, and the limbs of dependent origination? Do they generate conceptualization about all the perfections, all emptinesses, all liberations, all samadhis, and all dharani gates? Do they generate conceptualization about the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment? Do they generate conceptualization about the immeasurables, the dhyanas, the formless attainments, emptiness, the absence of characteristics, the absence of wishes, and the superknowledges? Do they generate conceptualization about the powers, the fearlessnesses, the individual perfect knowledges, and the unshared qualities of the Buddhas? World Honored One, is there also conceptualization about all-knowingness?

Is there a distinction between them? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not discriminate against form, nor does he discriminate against feeling, perception, mental formations, or consciousness. He does not discriminate against aggregates, elements, sense-bases, dependent origination, or the limbs of dependent origination. He does not discriminate against all perfections or all emptiness. He does not discriminate against the factors of enlightenment. He does not discriminate against immeasurables, meditations, formless attainments, or noble truths. He does not discriminate against liberations, samadhis, or dharani gates. He does not discriminate against the ten powers, fearlessnesses, individual perfect knowledge, or the unshared qualities of a Buddha. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not discriminate even up to the point of all-knowingness. Why is that? Subhuti, because all-knowingness, as it is, is not made by anyone, does not come from anywhere, does not go anywhere, does not abide anywhere, does not abide in a place, does not abide in a direction. Therefore, it is not countable. Going and coming are not discernible. Whatever is not countable and whose going and coming are not discernible cannot be fully awakened by anything. It is not by form, not by feeling, not by perception, not by mental formations, not by consciousness, not by aggregates, not by elements, not by sense-bases, not by dependent origination, not by the limbs of dependent origination. It is not by giving, not by morality, not by patience, not by diligence, not by meditation, not by wisdom, not by the wisdom of all-knowingness that one awakens to complete enlightenment. Why is that? Because the very nature of form is all-knowingness, and the nature of feeling, perception, and mental formations, and the nature of consciousness are also all-knowingness. The qualities of a Buddha are not
