Beyond that, there is no conceptualization whatsoever. Even beyond the state of all-knowingness, there is no conceptualization. Even so, Subhuti, bodhisattvas mahasattvas, without conceptualizing or being daunted by such a dharma, think, 'I shall thus awaken to these dharmas, fully and perfectly enlightened.' To think, 'Having thus awakened to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, I shall expound those peaceful and excellent dharmas,' is difficult to do. Subhuti, thus, a bodhisattva mahasattva, having awakened to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, becomes a friend to the world, and that is the act of a friend. Subhuti, how does a bodhisattva mahasattva, having awakened to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, become an island for the world? Subhuti, it is like this: for example, those great rivers, or those great oceans, or any place that is completely cut off by water, those are called islands. Subhuti, similarly, form is the complete cessation of the prior and subsequent limits. Subhuti, similarly, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are the complete cessation of the prior and subsequent limits. Similarly, the aggregates, elements, sources, dependent origination, and the limbs of dependent origination are the complete cessation of the prior and subsequent limits. Similarly, the perfection of generosity is the complete cessation of the prior and subsequent limits. Similarly, the perfections of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom are the complete cessation of the prior and subsequent limits. Inner emptiness is the complete cessation of the prior and subsequent limits. Outer emptiness is the complete cessation of the prior and subsequent limits. Inner and outer emptiness is the complete cessation of the prior and subsequent limits. The emptiness of the nature of non-things is the prior

The end and the later end are completely cut off. The thirty-seven dharmas in accordance with enlightenment are the former end and the latter end are completely cut off. Immeasurable, meditative concentration, and formless attainments are the former end and the latter end are completely cut off. The noble truths are the former end and the latter end are completely cut off. Liberation, samadhi, attainments, and the doors of dharani are the former end and the latter end are completely cut off. Emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and direct knowledge are the former end and the latter end are completely cut off. The ten powers, fearlessness, individual correct knowledge, and the unshared qualities of the Buddha are the former end and the latter end are completely cut off. Up to the all-knowingness is the former end and the latter end are completely cut off. Complete nirvana. Subhuti, thus enlightenment is the complete cutting off of all dharmas. Subhuti, the complete cutting off of the former end and the latter end of all dharmas is peace. That is good. That is correct. For example, emptiness, signlessness, the cessation of the continuum of the path, the exhaustion of craving, detachment from desire, cessation, and nirvana. Subhuti, thus, after a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva has directly realized unexcelled, perfect and complete enlightenment, he teaches the complete cutting off of the former end and the latter end of all dharmas, and is the island for the people of the world. Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, after directly realizing unexcelled, perfect and complete enlightenment, become the light for the people of the world? Subhuti, here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, for beings who have long been covered by the shell of the egg of ignorance and oppressed by darkness, eliminates the darkness of ignorance with the light of wisdom, making them free from dimness. Subhuti, thus, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva
