Because there is no limit, because there is no number, because actions are unequal and equal, it abides. What is the reason for that? Subhuti, it is because this profound Prajnaparamita does not grasp form, does not cling to manifestation, and abides. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness also do not grasp, do not cling to manifestation, and abide. Even the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha do not grasp, do not cling to manifestation, and abide. The fruit of stream-entry also does not grasp, does not cling to manifestation, and abides. Similarly, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, Arhatship, Pratyekabuddhahood, and even unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment do not grasp, do not cling to manifestation, and abide. Subhuti asked: World Honored One, how is it that this Prajnaparamita does not grasp form, does not cling to manifestation, and abides? World Honored One, how is it that feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness do not grasp, do not cling to manifestation, and abide? World Honored One, how is it that even unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment does not grasp, does not cling to manifestation, and abides? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, do you truly see any form that can be grasped or clung to in manifestation? Subhuti replied: World Honored One, no. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, do you truly see any feeling, perception, formations, or consciousness that can be grasped or clung to in manifestation? Subhuti, do you truly see anything, even unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, that can be grasped or clung to in manifestation? Subhuti replied: World Honored One, no. or the form that should be clung to or fixated upon, I have not truly seen as it is. Subhuti, I have also not truly seen as they are whatever feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness should be taken up or fixated upon. Subhuti, I have also not truly seen as it is unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment. Because I have not truly seen it, I have not taken it up. Because I have not taken it up, I have not fixated upon it. Subhuti, I have also not truly seen as they are the very Buddhahood, the very omniscience, the very all-aspects-knowing, the very Tathagatahood. Because I have not truly seen it, I have not taken it up. Because I have not taken it up, I have not fixated upon it. Subhuti, therefore, a bodhisattva mahasattva should not take up form, should not fixate upon it. Subhuti, a bodhisattva mahasattva should not take up feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness, should not fixate upon them. Likewise, the aggregates, the elements, the sense bases, dependent origination, and the limbs of dependent origination, should not be taken up, should not be fixated upon.

Not to be grasped, not to be manifestly fixated upon, this is called the first instant of the excellent arising that gathers all noble beings. Then, those sons of gods who abide in desire and abide in form said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is profound and difficult to see, difficult to realize, inconceivable, not the domain of thought. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is peaceful, subtle, intelligent, skilled, to be known by discriminating awareness. Blessed One, any Bodhisattva who develops faith in this profound Perfection of Wisdom, they have certainly made offerings to the Buddhas of the past. Blessed One, these Bodhisattvas who develop faith in this profound Perfection of Wisdom are certainly embraced by virtuous friends. Having generated roots of virtue, this is called the second instant of the excellent arising that is to be known by wise persons. Blessed One, if all the sentient beings in the three-thousand great-thousand world system were to become followers of faith, followers of Dharma, eighth ones, stream-enterers, once-returners, non-returners, Arhats, Pratyekabuddhas, whatever the knowledge and abandonment of all of them, and if they were to endure and have faith in this profound Perfection of Wisdom under a single umbrella, and in the manner of thinking, measuring, closely showing, and counting, if they endure and have faith in the Perfection of Wisdom, then this itself is superior and more precious than them. What is the reason for this? It is because whatever the knowledge and abandonment of the followers of faith, the followers of Dharma, the eighth ones, the stream-enterers, and the once-returners, the non-returners, and the Arhats themselves, and the Pratyekabuddhas, that is the endurance obtained by the Bodhisattva Mahasattva for the non-arising of phenomena. Then, the Blessed One spoke to those sons of gods: Sons of gods, it is so.
