Beings are suffering in this way. The beings in the realm of the pretas are suffering in this way, may you reach the ultimate end in this suffering. If (someone) says, what can unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment do for you? Subhuti, this should also be recognized by the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva as the work of Mara, which is turning away from going to the lower realms. Furthermore, Subhuti, while inquiring about this profound Prajnaparamita and properly applying the mind, if someone comes there and praises the merits of the gods of the four great kings, praises the merits of the gods between the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, (saying) the desire realm is so happy because of enjoying desires, the form realm is so happy because of entering into samadhi, the formless realm is so happy because of entering into tranquility, (but) all of these are impermanent, suffering, empty, selfless, having the nature of change, having the nature of exhaustion, having the nature of destruction, having the nature of cessation, may you attain the fruit of stream-entry here, attain the fruit of once-returner, attain the fruit of non-returner, attain the state of Arhat. May you attain self-enlightenment here, may you not wander in samsara for a long time. If (someone) says this, Subhuti, this should also be recognized by the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva as the work of Mara, which is well-oriented towards going to the happy realms. Furthermore, Subhuti, if the Dharma speaker is alone, without a companion, and is doing it for himself, and the Dharma listener is dwelling in the retinue, Subhuti, this will also lead to not having the causes and conditions to inquire, recite, and chant this profound Prajnaparamita, Subhuti, this should also be recognized by the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva as the work of Mara. Furthermore, Subhuti, if the Dharma listener is alone, without a companion, and is doing it for himself, and the Dharma speaker is dwelling in the retinue, Subhuti, this will also lead to the profound Prajnaparamita

Thus, the causes and conditions for asking, reciting, and chanting are not complete. Subhuti, this should also be regarded as the work of Mara by the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. To say "being alone and delighting in retinue, not possessing a sangha" is what this means. Furthermore, Subhuti, if a Dharma speaker says, "Whoever becomes connected with me, I will give them the asking, reciting, receiving, chanting, proper attention, and meditation of this profound Prajnaparamita," and if the listener does not become connected, then, Subhuti, this will also not possess the causes and conditions for asking, reciting, and receiving this profound Prajnaparamita. Moreover, if there is a lack of causes and conditions for questioning, upholding, and reciting such profound Prajñāpāramitā, Subhuti, this is also to be regarded as the work of Mara by the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. This is because merely desiring a little wealth and being unwilling to give it away, one does not possess the conducive conditions. Furthermore, Subhuti, if the speaker of the Dharma desires to go to a place where there is a danger to life, but the listener of the Dharma does not want to go there, Subhuti, this will also lead to a lack of causes and conditions for questioning, upholding, reciting, properly attending to, and practicing such profound Prajñāpāramitā.
