Nowhere to be found and indivisible. Kauśika, furthermore, inner emptiness is empty by inner emptiness. Likewise, outer emptiness is empty by outer emptiness. The interval of the self-nature of non-things is empty by the interval of the self-nature of non-things. A Bodhisattva is empty by a Bodhisattva. Thus, inner emptiness, outer emptiness, the emptiness of inner and outer, up to the emptiness of the self-nature of non-things, and the emptiness of a Bodhisattva, these are indivisible and cannot be made into two. Kauśika, furthermore, the mindfulnesses are empty by the mindfulnesses. Likewise, the perfect abandonments, the miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, the branches of enlightenment, the paths, the superknowledges, the noble truths, the immeasurables, the meditations, the formless absorptions, the ten powers, the fearlessnesses, the separate perfect knowledges, and the eighteen unmixed qualities of a Buddha are empty by the eighteen unmixed qualities of a Buddha. Thus, from the emptiness of the mindfulnesses up to the emptiness of the eighteen unmixed qualities of a Buddha, and the emptiness of a Bodhisattva, these are indivisible and cannot be made into two. Kauśika, furthermore, Samadhi is empty by Samadhi. The door of Dharani is empty by the door of Dharani. A Bodhisattva is empty by a Bodhisattva. Thus, the emptiness of Samadhi, the emptiness of the door of Dharani, and the emptiness of a Bodhisattva, whatever that is, is indivisible and cannot be made into two. Kauśika, furthermore, the Hearer Vehicle is empty by the Hearer Vehicle. The Solitary Buddha Vehicle is empty by the Solitary Buddha Vehicle. The Great Vehicle is empty by the Great Vehicle. A Hearer is empty by a Hearer. A Solitary Buddha is empty by a Solitary Buddha. A Bodhisattva is empty by a Bodhisattva. A Buddha is empty by a Buddha.

Emptiness! Thus, from the emptiness of the Hearer Vehicle to the emptiness of the Great Vehicle, and from the emptiness of the Hearer to the emptiness of the Buddha, there is no duality and no separation. Kausika, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should thus abide in the Perfection of Wisdom; this belongs to the stage of heat. Then, Indra, the lord of the gods, said to the Venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva not abide in the Perfection of Wisdom? Subhuti said: Kausika, here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should not abide in form with the aspect of grasping. He should not abide in feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. He should not abide in the eye with the aspect of grasping. He should not abide in form. He should not abide in eye-consciousness. He should not abide in eye-contact. He should not abide in eye-contact. He should not abide in the feeling born from eye-contact. Similarly, he should not abide in the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. He should not abide in phenomena. He should not abide in mind-consciousness. He should not abide in mind-contact. He should not abide in the feeling born from mind-contact. He should not abide in the earth element with the aspect of grasping. He should not abide in the water element. He should not abide in the fire element. He should not abide in the wind element. He should not abide in the space element. He should not abide in the consciousness element. He should not abide in the mindfulnesses with the aspect of grasping. Similarly, he should not abide in the right abandonments, the legs of magical power, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, the path, and the superknowledges. He should not abide in the Noble Truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the ten powers, the fearlessnesses, the separate knowledges, and the unmixed qualities of the Buddha. He should not abide in the fruit of stream-entry with the aspect of grasping.

Likewise, one should not abide in the fruits of once-returner, non-returner, Arhat, solitary Buddha, or even Buddhahood, as this belongs to the peak. One should not abide in the notion that form is permanent by way of focusing on it. Similarly, one should not abide in the notions of impermanence, happiness, suffering, self, non-self, peace, non-peace, solitude, or non-solitude. One should not abide in the notions that form is empty, non-empty, has signs, is without signs, has aspirations, or is without aspirations. One should not abide in the notion that feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are permanent by way of focusing on them. Similarly, one should not abide in the notions of impermanence, happiness, suffering, self, non-self, peace, non-peace, solitude, non-solitude, emptiness, non-emptiness, having signs, being without signs, having aspirations, or being without aspirations. Likewise, one should not abide in the notion of permanence in all of the individual and collective aggregates, elements, sources, dependent origination, perfections, aspects of enlightenment, immeasurables, meditations, formless absorptions, truths, superknowledges, samadhis, dharani gates, powers, fearlessnesses, individual perfect knowledges, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, up to all-knowingness, by way of focusing on them. Similarly, one should not abide in the notions of impermanence, happiness, suffering, self, non-self, peace, non-peace, solitude, non-solitude, emptiness, or non-emptiness.
