Having made service, having made a guru, having made respect, having made offerings. Likewise, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha, along with the Sangha of the Shravakas, those who have passed into Nirvana, also built stupas of the nature of the seven precious things, and to those stupas with flowers, incense, scents, garlands, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and flags, they made service, made a guru, made respect, made offerings, this is not a small interest generated for other purposes. Then, the Blessed One spoke to Shakra, the Lord of the Gods: Kaushika, if you consider carefully, if someone gives you this Jambudvipa filled to the brim with the relics of the Tathagata, or if someone gives you this Prajnaparamita written in a book, which of the two would you choose? Shakra replied: Blessed One, if someone gives me this Jambudvipa filled to the brim with the relics of the Tathagata, or if someone gives me this Prajnaparamita written and made into a book, between these two, I would choose this Prajnaparamita itself. Why is that? Blessed One, I am not disrespectful to the relics of the Tathagata. Blessed One, I am not saying that one should not show, serve, revere, respect, and offer to the relics of the Tathagata. Blessed One, however, the relics of the Tathagata also arise from this Prajnaparamita, therefore one should serve, one should revere, one should respect, one should offer. By practicing the Prajnaparamita, those relics of the Tathagata obtain offerings. Then, the Venerable Shariputra said these words to Shakra, the Lord of the Gods: Kaushika, hold this Prajnaparamita.

Unattainable, unteachable, unimpeded, of one characteristic. Thus, if it is without characteristics, the Perfection of Wisdom is unattainable, unteachable, unimpeded, of one characteristic. Thus, if it is without characteristics, how do you think it can be attained? Why is that? This Perfection of Wisdom does not abide for the sake of grasping or abandoning. It is not for the sake of decreasing. It is not for the sake of increasing. It is not for the sake of arising. It is not for the sake of diminishing. It is not for the sake of reducing. It is not for the sake of adding. It is not for the sake of complete defilement. It is not for the sake of complete purification. It does not give the qualities of the Buddhas. It does not give the qualities of ordinary beings. It does not give the qualities of Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, or Shravakas. It does not give the qualities of learners or non-learners. It does not give the realm of the unconditioned. It does not give from inner emptiness to the emptiness of the nature of non-things. It does not give the perfections. It does not give the mindfulnesses, the correct abandonments, the legs of magical power, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, the paths, the immeasurables, the meditations, the formless absorptions, the powers, the fearlessnesses, the separate correct knowledges, or the unmixed qualities of the Buddhas. It does not give up to the all-knowingness. Indra said: Venerable Shariputra, it is so, it is so. Venerable Shariputra, as you said, the Perfection of Wisdom does not give the unmixed qualities of the Buddhas, up to the all-knowingness. Why is that? The Perfection of Wisdom is not dual, because the Perfection of Wisdom is non-dual. Likewise, the Perfection of Meditation, the Perfection of Diligence,
