This profound perfection of wisdom will be held, will be retained, will be read, will be fully understood, will be recited, will be properly attended to, and will not be separated from the mind of omniscience. To that one, if someone throws poison, or casts a spell, or throws into a pit of fire, or strikes with a weapon, or pours poison, or throws into water, all of these will not harm him. Why is that? Kauśika, know that this perfection of wisdom is the great mantra. Kauśika, know that this perfection of wisdom is the unsurpassed mantra. Kauśika, a son or daughter of good family who studies this will not harm himself, nor harm others, nor harm both. This is the action of being unharmed. Why is that? It is because one does not apprehend self, does not apprehend others, does not apprehend form, does not apprehend feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. One does not apprehend the separate and combined aggregates, elements, sources, dependent origination, perfections, factors of enlightenment, immeasurables, concentrations, formless absorptions, all emptinesses, all samādhis, all dhāraṇī gates, the ten powers, fearlessnesses, the individual correct knowledges, the unmixed qualities of the Buddhas, and even omniscience. Because of non-apprehension, one does not harm oneself, nor harm others, nor harm both. He will attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment and will look upon all sentient beings. Why is that? Because the past Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas attained unsurpassed perfect enlightenment by training in this very mantra. The future Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened

The Buddhas also, having trained in this Perfection of Wisdom, will manifestly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Now, the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly and completely awakened Buddhas of the ten directions of the world-systems, also having trained in this Perfection of Wisdom, have manifestly awakened to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. This is the activity of perfect and complete enlightenment. Kauśika, furthermore, the Perfection of Wisdom, if written and held, recited, fully understood, taught, and properly attended to, will not be susceptible to being read or viewed by humans or non-humans, nor will fault-finders find fault. Why is that? It is because the Perfection of Wisdom is taught here. The sons of the gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings of the three-thousand great-thousand world-system, and the Thirty-three, the Yama, the Tuṣita, the Nirmāṇarati, the Paranirmitavaśavartin, the Brahma retinue, the Brahma attendants, the Great Brahma, and the gods up to Akanishtha, and the sons of the gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings of the immeasurable, countless world-systems, and the Thirty-three, the Yama, the Tuṣita, the Nirmāṇarati, the Paranirmitavaśavartin, the Brahma retinue, the Brahma attendants, the Great Brahma, and the gods up to Akanishtha, as many as there are, all of them will protect, guard, and conceal those sons or daughters of good family who write, hold, and recite this profound Perfection of Wisdom. Thus, the sons of the gods will come and pay homage to this Perfection of Wisdom, respect it, honor it, venerate it, and depart after making offerings. Whoever writes, holds, and recites this Perfection of Wisdom will experience these benefits in this very life. Kauśika, for example,

Furthermore, at the heart of the Bodhi tree, or within the heart of Bodhi, from the place belonging to the dwelling of animals, from that beginning, no matter which beings, they cannot be disturbed or harmed by humans or non-humans. Why is that? Because the Buddhas, the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the perfectly enlightened ones of the past, also resided there and attained unsurpassed perfect enlightenment and became Buddhas. The future and present Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas will also attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment there and become Buddhas. Having attained unsurpassed perfect enlightenment and become Buddhas, they will place all sentient beings in a state of happiness, fearlessness, non-hatred, non-annoyance, non-fear, non-contention, and non-opposition. Having placed them in a state of happiness, fearlessness, non-hatred, non-annoyance, non-fear, non-contention, and non-opposition, they will also place countless immeasurable sentient beings in the perfection of gods and humans. They will place them in the fruit of stream-entry, the fruit of once-returning, the fruit of non-returning, the state of Arhatship, the state of solitary enlightenment, and unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Why is that? Because this Perfection of Wisdom has made that place a stupa for all sentient beings, therefore it will be worshiped, revered, respected, offered to, served, and honored with many offerings of flowers, incense, perfume, garlands, unguents, powders, garments, umbrellas, banners, and flags. This is called the object of reliance, the place of offering, and these are the agents that are spoken of. Faithful attention.
