are practicing. I am bringing all sentient beings to maturity. I am purifying all Buddha-fields. I am attaining omniscience, thinking thus, attachment to self and what belongs to self arises, and thus pride arises. World-Honored One, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who thus engages in worldly dharmas, and who, through attachment to self and what belongs to self, develops pride, abides in order to completely subdue and eliminate pride through the Perfection of Wisdom, this is called the practice of completely subduing. World-Honored One, in this case, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva engages in transcendental dharmas, and when giving alms, does not focus on the alms, nor on the giver, nor on the receiver. Thus, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom abides in order to be completely subdued and free from pride. Similarly, guarding morality, practicing patience, exerting diligence, entering into meditative concentration, and even the wisdom of cultivating wisdom are not focused upon. Similarly, the practice of mindfulness, perfect abandonment, the foundations of miraculous power, faculties, powers, branches of enlightenment, and paths are not focused upon. The cultivation of immeasurables, meditative concentrations, formless absorptions, noble truths, and supernormal knowledges are not focused upon. The cultivation of powers, fearlessnesses, individual perfect knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha are not focused upon. The cultivation of all emptinesses, all samadhis, and all dharani gates are not focused upon. Similarly, the cultivation of great love and great compassion are not focused upon. Even the cultivation up to omniscience is not focused upon. World-Honored One, thus the Perfection of Wisdom is for the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva to abide in order to be completely subdued and free from pride, this is called the teaching of all conforming practices. Then, the World-Honored One to the gods

The Lord of the Devas, Indra, spoke thus: "Kauśika, any son or daughter of good family who holds, carries, recites, understands, chants, or properly contemplates this profound Perfection of Wisdom, when they are in battle and preparing to go to war, if that son or daughter of good family recites this Perfection of Wisdom and goes forth, that son or daughter of good family will not be defeated, but will surely be victorious. And having won, they will escape from that battle unharmed. Kauśika, it is impossible for a son or daughter of good family who recites this profound Perfection of Wisdom and goes to war to be killed; there is no such possibility. Even if someone shoots an arrow or throws a weapon at their body, it will not hit or pierce their body. Why is that? It is because that son or daughter of good family has long practiced this Perfection of Wisdom, and has destroyed their own weapon of desire and arrow of desire, and has also destroyed the weapon of desire and arrow of desire of others; they have destroyed their own weapon of hatred and arrow of hatred, and have also destroyed the weapon of hatred and arrow of hatred of others; they have destroyed their own arrow of delusion and weapon of delusion, and have also destroyed the weapon of delusion and arrow of delusion of others; they have destroyed their own weapon caused by views and arrow caused by views, and have also destroyed the weapon caused by views and arrow caused by views of others; they have destroyed their own weapon of arising and arrow of arising, and have also destroyed the weapon of arising and arrow of arising of others; they have destroyed their own weapon of latent tendencies and arrow of latent tendencies, and have also destroyed the weapon of latent tendencies and arrow of latent tendencies of others. Kauśika, therefore, an arrow or weapon will not pierce the body of that son or daughter of good family, which is the means of overcoming afflictions. Kauśika, furthermore, if a son or daughter of good family knows
