One should not fixate on what is called permanent and impermanent. One should not fixate on what is called happiness and suffering. One should not fixate on what is called self and non-self. One should not fixate on what is called peace and non-peace. One should not fixate on what is called emptiness and non-emptiness. One should not fixate on what is called having signs and having no signs. One should not fixate on what is called having aspirations and having no aspirations. One should not fixate on what is called secluded and not secluded. Thus, Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they should not fixate in this way by fixating on these dharmas. It was said: "Subhuti, why is it said that whatever is unborn of form is not form? Whatever is unborn of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness is not consciousness?" Subhuti, why is it said that whatever is unborn of the sense bases, the elements, dependent origination, the perfections, all emptiness, the factors of enlightenment, the meditations, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the powers of the Tathagata, the fearlessnesses, the analytical knowledges, the unshared dharmas of the Buddha, and all-knowingness is not all-knowingness? Subhuti said: "Shariputra, form is empty of form. Whatever is empty is not form, it is unborn. Shariputra, therefore, whatever is unborn of form is not form. Shariputra, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are empty of consciousness. Whatever is empty is not consciousness, it is unborn. Shariputra, therefore, whatever is unborn of consciousness is not consciousness."
