is also not apprehended. A Stream-enterer is not found in a Once-returner, nor is it apprehended. The interval between Tathagatas is not found in the interval between Tathagatas, nor is it apprehended. A Tathagata is not found in a Stream-enterer, a Once-returner, a Non-returner, an Arhat, a Pratyekabuddha, or a Bodhisattva, nor is it apprehended. A Bodhisattva is not found in a Bodhisattva, nor is it apprehended. A Bodhisattva is not found in the Perfection of Wisdom, nor is it apprehended. The Perfection of Wisdom is not found in the Perfection of Wisdom, nor is it apprehended. The Perfection of Wisdom is not found in a Bodhisattva, nor is it apprehended. A Bodhisattva and the Perfection of Wisdom are not found in instruction and subsequent instruction, nor are they apprehended. Instruction and subsequent instruction are not found in instruction and subsequent instruction, nor are they apprehended. Instruction and subsequent instruction are not found in a Bodhisattva and the Perfection of Wisdom, nor are they apprehended. Shariputra, if all dharmas are thus without existence and without object, then the statement that a Bodhisattva is without existence and is not apprehended is the negation of the obtainable from the ascertainment of the obtainable. Shariputra, if someone should say, 'Why is this? The term 'Bodhisattva' is merely a name,' Shariputra, the term 'Bodhisattva' is a name that is suddenly applied. Therefore, it is said that the term 'Bodhisattva' is merely a name. The name of all dharmas does not come from anywhere in the ten directions, nor does it go anywhere, nor does it abide anywhere. Likewise, the name of a Bodhisattva does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere, nor does it abide anywhere. Shariputra, just as the term 'form,' the term 'feeling,' the term 'perception,' the term 'formations,' and the term 'consciousness' are names that are suddenly applied, so names do not come from anywhere, nor do they go anywhere, nor do they abide anywhere. Whatever is called a name,

That is not form, not feeling, not perception, not formations, not consciousness. Why is that? Like this, name is empty of its own nature of name. What is emptiness, that is not name. Therefore, like this, what is called a Bodhisattva is just a name. Venerable Shariputra, like this, the term 'sense base,' the term 'element,' and the term 'dependent arising' are names temporarily assigned. Like this, name does not come from anywhere, does not go anywhere, and does not abide anywhere. What is called just a name is not a sense base, not an element, not dependent arising. Why is that? Like this, name is empty of its own nature of name. What is emptiness, that is not name. Therefore, like this, what is called a Bodhisattva is just a name. Venerable Shariputra, furthermore, this is just a name, like this, what is called the perfection of giving. There is no perfection of giving in name, and there is no name in the perfection of giving. Why is that? Like this, whatever is name and whatever is the perfection of giving, both of these are non-existent and unattainable. Therefore, like this, what is called a Bodhisattva is just a name. The perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, the perfection of wisdom, these are just names. There is no perfection of wisdom in name, and there is no name in the perfection of wisdom. Why is that? Like this, whatever is name and whatever is the perfection of wisdom, both of these are non-existent and unattainable. Therefore, like this, what is called a Bodhisattva is just a name. Like this, intrinsic emptiness is just a name. There is no intrinsic emptiness in name, and there is no name in intrinsic emptiness. Why is that? Like this, whatever is name and whatever is intrinsic emptiness, both of these are non-existent and unattainable. Therefore, like this,
