The ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four individual perfect knowledges, and even the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, are trained in by way of not focusing on them. Then, the venerable Shariputra said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, is it the case that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva trains in the Perfection of Wisdom in such a way, by training in it by way of not focusing on it? The Blessed One said: Shariputra, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva trains in the Perfection of Wisdom in such a way, by training in it by way of not focusing on it. Shariputra said: Blessed One, why is it not focused on? The Blessed One said: Shariputra, because of being utterly pure, I do not focus on self. Because of being utterly pure, sentient beings, life, nourishment, individuals, persons, those born of strength, those born of power, agents, experiencers, knowers, and seers are not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, suffering is not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, origination, cessation, and the path are not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, the desire realm is not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, the form realm is not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, the formless realm is not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, meditative stabilizations, immeasurables, and formless attainments are not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, mindfulnesses, perfect abandonments, miraculous legs, faculties, powers, branches of enlightenment, and the path are not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, the perfections are not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four individual perfect knowledges, and the ten powers of the Thus-Gone One are not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, the unshared qualities of a Buddha are not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, a stream enterer is not focused on. Because of being utterly pure, a once-returner, a non-returner, an Arhat, and a Pratyekabuddha are not focused on.

Earth! Because of being extremely pure, Bodhisattva is not observed. Because of being extremely pure, enlightenment is not observed. Because of being extremely pure, Buddha is not observed. Asked: World Honored One, what is purity? The World Honored One said: All dharmas are unborn, without arising, without objects, and without manifest actions, this is called purity. Shariputra, in this way, Bodhisattva Mahasattva learns by not observing all dharmas. This is said to be associated with conceptualization and is a general teaching. Asked: World Honored One, what dharmas does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who learns in this way learn? The World Honored One said: Shariputra, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who learns in this way does not learn any dharma. Why is that? Shariputra, these dharmas are not in the form that ordinary people manifestly cling to. Asked: World Honored One, then how do these dharmas exist? The World Honored One said: They exist as they are, and because they do not exist in that way, they are called non-existent. This is called the first ignorance conceptualization associated with conceptualization belonging to the heat position. Asked: World Honored One, why is it called non-existent because it does not exist? The World Honored One said: Shariputra, form is not existent because of the space between inner emptiness and the emptiness of the nature of non-things. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are not existent because of the space between inner emptiness and the emptiness of the nature of non-things. Among the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, they are not existent because of the space between inner emptiness and the emptiness of the nature of non-things. Even among the eighteen unmixed Buddha dharmas, they are not existent because of the space between inner emptiness and the emptiness of the nature of non-things. This is called the second suchness conceptualization regarding the aggregates such as form.

It is a concept. For those childish ordinary people, they are attached to ignorance and craving. They are deluded by ignorance and craving. After being deluded, they are attached to ignorance and craving. Because of attachment to the two extremes, they do not know or understand the true nature of these two extremes. They are deluded by those dharmas that do not conform to reality, from attachment to name and form, until attachment to the dharmas of the Buddhas. This is called the third concept, which is the concept of attachment to name and form. Those who are attached to the dharmas will be deluded by the two non-existent extremes. After being deluded, they do not know or understand. What do they not know or understand? They do not know or understand form. Feelings, perceptions, volitions, and consciousness, they do not know or understand, up to the twelve sources, the eighteen realms, and dependent origination. They do not know or understand the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, up to not knowing or understanding the unique dharmas of the Buddhas. Therefore, they are classified as "childish ones." This is called the fourth concept, which is the concept of attachment to the two extremes. They do not know or understand because of ignorance and craving. What do they not know or understand? They do not know or understand "form is completely defiled." Similarly, they do not know or understand "form is completely purified." Feelings, perceptions, volitions, and consciousness are completely defiled, they do not know or understand. Similarly, they do not know or understand "consciousness is completely purified." They will definitely not be liberated from it. From where will they definitely not be liberated? They will not be liberated from the desire realm. They will not be liberated from the form realm. They will not be liberated from the formless realm. They will not be liberated from the dharmas of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. This is called the fifth concept, which is the concept of not understanding complete defilement and complete purification.
