When seeing impurity, decay, and foul odor, one should think that this body is also of such a nature, of such a self, and does not go beyond such a dharma nature. Therefore, one should also closely associate this body with that state. Subhuti, in this way, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, being diligent, knowledgeable, and mindful, eliminates attachment and displeasure towards the world, observes the body externally, dwells in accordance with the body, but without clinging, does not discriminate against the discriminations related to the body. Subhuti, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they see in a charnel ground a string of skeletons, flesh and blood blurred, blood flowing like a river, and tendons hanging from the chest, they think that this body is also of such a nature, of such a self, and does not go beyond such a dharma nature. Therefore, one should also closely associate this body with that state. Subhuti, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they see in a charnel ground bones, without flesh and blood, without the nourishment of tendons, turned like the color of a conch shell, they think that this body is also of such a nature, of such a self, and does not go beyond such a dharma nature.

When the body's tissues, devoid of essence, separate and become like the color of a conch shell, and when one sees them scattered on the ground, (one thinks) this body also has such a nature, has such a self-nature, and does not transcend such a law. Thus, one connects one's own body with that state. Subhuti, therefore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, being diligent and possessing mindfulness, having mindfulness, completely eliminates attachment and displeasure towards the world, and observes the body in relation to the external body, abiding in this, but in a non-clinging manner, does not conceptualize the conceptualizations related to the body. Subhuti, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if in a charnel ground one sees bones scattered in various directions and corners, for example, the bones of the feet scattered elsewhere, the bones of the shins scattered elsewhere, the bones of the thighs scattered elsewhere, the bones of the hips scattered elsewhere, the bones of the joints scattered elsewhere, the ribs scattered elsewhere, the bones of the neck scattered elsewhere, the bones of the shoulders scattered elsewhere, the skull also scattered elsewhere, (one thinks) this body also has such a nature, has such a self-nature, and does not transcend such a law.
