He fully understands that the mind that is above exists as the mind that is above. He fully understands that the mind that is unsurpassed exists as the mind that is unsurpassed. Knowing the minds of others does not lead to arrogance, because the mind itself is inconceivable. Therefore, there is no arrogance in saying, "I know it." Thus, because of emptiness of inherent existence, because of the absence of inherent existence, and because of the invisibility of inherent existence, such a mind that would lead to arrogance is not seen. Except for keeping in mind omniscience itself, one does not even generate the thought of wanting to know the mind or the thought of wanting to attain the knowledge of the mind. Shariputra, Thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, attains the wisdom of clairvoyance in order to manifest the conduct of the minds of all sentient beings. With the clairvoyance of remembering previous lives, he remembers even one birth. From two or three births up to hundreds of thousands of births, he remembers. He remembers from remembering even one thought up to a hundred thoughts. From one day to a hundred days, from one month to a hundred months, from one year to a hundred years, from one kalpa to a hundred kalpas, from countless hundreds of kalpas to countless thousands of kalpas, from countless hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas, he remembers up to the end of the past. "I used to live in such and such a place, my name was this, my clan was this, my lineage was this, I ate such and such food, I lived for such and such a time, the end of my life was such and such, I died from there and was born in such and such a place, and from there I died and was born here," thus, together with the appearance, the teachings, and the explanations, he remembers the various previous lives of himself and others. Even with the wisdom of clairvoyance to manifest the remembrance of previous lives, he does not become arrogant, because that wisdom is not wisdom.

Also, because it is inconceivable. Therefore, there is no arrogance of "I fully understand," because in this way, by means of that very wisdom, also because of the emptiness of self-nature, the tranquility of self-nature, and the unobtainability of self-nature, such wisdom that would become arrogance is unobtainable. Apart from keeping in mind the all-knowing, even the thought of remembering past lives, or the thought of realizing the remembrance of past lives, does not arise. Shariputra, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, it is to realize the wisdom of superknowledge in order to realize the remembrance of past lives. With pure, superhuman divine eye, he clearly knows the death and rebirth of sentient beings, as well as beauty and ugliness, good and evil, and according to their karma, they tend towards good and bad destinies. These sentient beings possess evil deeds of body, evil deeds of speech, evil deeds of mind, slander the noble ones, and hold wrong views. Because of the karma of wrong views, after the destruction of the body and the end of life, they fall into evil destinies and evil paths, and are born in hells. Those sentient beings possess good deeds of body, good deeds of speech, good deeds of mind, do not slander the noble ones, and hold right views. Because of the good deeds of body, speech, and mind, after the destruction of the body and the end of life, they will be reborn in good destinies, among the gods in the heavenly realms. He clearly knows in this way. Therefore, with pure, superhuman divine eye, he truly knows the birth and death of sentient beings belonging to the six realms in all the world realms of the ten directions, which are filled with the sphere of Dharma and reach the limits of space. But he will not be arrogant because of this, because this eye is not a real eye, but is inconceivable. Therefore, there is no arrogance of "I have seen."

Because it is without mind, because its nature is empty, because its nature is secluded, and because its nature is imperceptible, it does not perceive with such an eye that becomes a conceited mind. That is not related to this, except for attending to omniscience, not even the thought of divine eye, or the thought of realizing the divine eye, arises. Shariputra, thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, is realizing the knowledge of manifestation to be realized by the divine eye. He realizes the knowledge of manifestation of non-arising, not falling into the ground of Hearers or Solitary Buddhas, and does not aspire to any other Dharma except for "I shall realize the perfect and complete unsurpassed enlightenment." He is skilled in realizing the knowledge of manifestation to be realized by the exhaustion of defilements, and he is not arrogant. Because that wisdom is not wisdom and is inconceivable. He is not arrogant to say, "I have fully understood," because its nature is empty, because its nature is secluded, because its nature is imperceptible, so he does not perceive with the knowledge of manifestation to be realized by the exhaustion of defilements, which becomes a conceited mind. That is not related to this, except for attending to omniscience, not even the thought of the wisdom of the exhaustion of defilements, or the thought of realizing the wisdom to be realized by the exhaustion of defilements, arises. Thus, Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he is realizing the knowledge of manifestation to be realized by the exhaustion of defilements. Shariputra, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, thus practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, makes the six superknowledges complete and pure. Shariputra, the completion and purification of superknowledge generates the knowledge of all aspects. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the Perfection of Giving.
