Should know with the mind. Remembering the previous abodes of those very beings, one does not think, "I will go by means of magical power and teach the Dharma." Shariputra, in the same way, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva thinks, "With my divine eye, I will know the death and birth of beings in the southwestern world, as many as the sands of the Ganges River. With my divine ear, I will hear the sounds of those beings. With my mind, I will know the minds of those beings. It should be said that practicing prajna-paramita is to diligently strive to completely liberate immeasurable, countless, and boundless sentient beings from suffering. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices prajna-paramita in this way, the evil one cannot find an opportunity. All the worldly afflictions of this one will be completely eliminated. Shariputra, in the world-realms to the east, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, all the Buddhas, the Bhagavat who dwell and maintain themselves, and all their Shravakas, all Pratyekabuddhas, the Four Great Kings, the Thirty-three Gods, the Gods of No Strife, the Gods of Tushita, the Gods of Enjoying Transformation, the Gods of Controlling Others' Transformations, the Brahma Assembly, the Brahma Assistants, the Brahma Retinue, the Great Brahma, the Gods of Minor Light, the Gods of Immeasurable Light, the Gods of Radiant Light, the Gods of Minor Virtue, the Gods of Immeasurable Virtue, the Gods of Universal Virtue, the Gods of No Clouds, the Gods of Merit-Born, the Gods of Great Fruit, the Gods of Unconscious Beings, the Gods of Non-Abandonment, the Gods of Non-Affliction, the Gods of Well-Appearing, the Gods of Well-Seeing, all the Gods in Akanishta, will protect this Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, lest he be obstructed in any way.
