Combining Prajnaparamita and skillful means, in order to generate joy, taking the example of transforming into a great Garuda bird, even if perfected by generosity etc., if separated from the two, one will fall into the realm of the Shravakas etc. Thus it is taught, showing that the two are the main factors for inevitable arising. Among them, those with wings are called birds. Its distinction is that it is a bird itself. In order to understand this, the word "bird" is mentioned. Therefore, the reason for saying "broken" is because one's own body is large but lacks wings. This is an explanation of the characteristics of self-nature. In any case, here, not all efforts devoted to union will necessarily bear fruit. If it is not here, it will not happen. Even so, what is it like? It is those who possess the roots of virtue that are in accordance with the part of liberation. Then, what is in accordance with the part of liberation? Without characteristics, excellent giving and so on, Those skilled in truly practicing, Those who realize all aspects, Here, it is desired to be a part of liberation. Thus it is taught. Anyone who fully realizes all aspects, taking the roots of virtue that are in accordance with the part of liberation as a prerequisite, from the initial generation of bodhicitta, up to the attainment of omniscience, practicing generosity etc. without characteristics through skillful means, this is what is allowed to be practiced. This is also explaining this point. That is, one must recognize the characteristics of faith, diligence, mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom. Furthermore, why are the perceptions of characteristics such as generosity prohibited here? Because for the sake of utmost purity, all phenomena do not exist in the nature of dharma in the slightest, and cannot be observed. With the perception of characteristics, it is difficult to attain the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment. With the perception of no characteristics, having become accustomed to the nature of emptiness of all phenomena, it is easy to attain perfect enlightenment. The opposite of the perception of no characteristics is called delusion. Because seeing bodhisattvas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges reversed, it is difficult to attain the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment. Thus it is said. Characteristics
